Chapter 355: All Have Secrets Translator: Tim Editor: GlobeGlotter
Luo Fei, Luo Xuan’s second martial sister, had no intention of killing her. Ye Mo, therefore, no longer wished to kill her. A lotus life pill would have instantly healed Luo Fei’s injuries, but Ye Mo disliked her and refused to use such a precious pill. He casually grabbed her, intending to take her to a quieter place for questioning.
However, upon seizing her, he discovered a Gu implanted within her, similar to the one in Qi Yulin’s body. He casually removed it. Ye Mo finally understood why Luo Fei couldn’t escape Qi Yulin: he’d planted a heart link Gu. Ye Mo shook his head. Though cunning and quick-witted, Luo Fei was inexperienced, little better than Luo Xuan.
Ye Mo took Luo Fei to a remote location and left her on the ground. Luo Fei slowly awoke. Seeing Ye Mo, she grabbed her nearby soft sword, vigilantly asking, “Who are you? Where’s Qi Yulin?”
Ye Mo replied plainly, “Who I am is unimportant. Your poison is potent; Qi Yulin is dead.”
A strange look crossed Luo Fei’s eyes—sadness mingled with relief. She looked around, realizing this wasn’t her previous location. Ye Mo’s calm demeanor, suggesting omniscience, made it clear he could easily kill her; he must have brought her here. Luo Fei sheathed her sword.
“What do you want to ask? If I can answer, I will,” she said, not inquiring about Ye Mo’s identity. She knew it was pointless. If he asked unanswerable questions, she’d rather die. Captured by Qi Yulin, she’d never expected to live.
She was clever. Ye Mo nodded. “I’m a friend of Luo Xuan’s…”
“What…” Luo Fei looked up desperately. “What happened to her? Where is she?”
Her voice softened, as if aware she had no right to ask.
“You ambushed her and nearly killed her; you have no right to ask about her,” Ye Mo stated plainly.
Relieved, Luo Fei breathed, gazing mindlessly at Ye Mo. “It’s good Luo Xuan is okay. I didn’t want to kill her. What do you need to ask? I’m no match for you, but I hope you aren’t deceiving someone about to die.”
Ye Mo smiled, producing a jade bottle. “This is Luo Xuan’s bottle. Do you believe me now? Don’t worry, I won’t kill you.”
“She actually gave you this…” Luo Fei murmured, then said seriously, “Luo Xuan is innocent. She gave you her most cherished bottle, so please don’t mistreat her. If Luo Xuan asked you to question me, then ask.”
Ye Mo frowned. What did mistreatment have to do with it? Still, he said, “You’re Luo Xuan’s second martial sister, right? Are you sure the Ni Luo Sutra isn’t on you?”
“Yes, I prepared to take the Ni Luo Sutra, but when I tried, it was gone,” Luo Fei shook her head.
Luo Fei hadn’t taken it, yet Ye Mo was more confused. If not Luo Fei, then only the eldest martial sister remained. If Luo Xuan took it, she wouldn’t need to mention it. But if the eldest martial sister had it, why was she injured and hiding it?
Ye Mo looked at Luo Fei. “Tell me everything about ambushing your martial sisters. Perhaps I’ll learn who took the Ni Luo Sutra.”
Luo Fei nodded. “When I gave myself to him, I intended to spend my life with him. He said I needn’t return, that he sought a quiet place to live with me.…”
A wishful look appeared in Luo Fei’s eyes, then dulled. She continued, “But he wanted to see the Ni Luo Sutra. So, when Luo Xuan said she had it, I sought him out to show him.
I feared the youngest sister wouldn’t agree, so I left Ying Hua Temple before calling him. He said he’d come immediately. Soon, he arrived, worried. I asked why, and he said my eldest sister, Luo Yin, wouldn’t let him see it. He was disappointed. I knew he was right. If my eldest sister knew, she wouldn’t let him see it; she detested him. But I wanted to satisfy his wish.”
“Did you ambush your eldest sister with Qi Yulin?” Ye Mo interrupted.
Luo Fei shook her head. “No, I’d never ambush my eldest sister. But he was my everything. I couldn’t bear to see him disappointed, so I said I’d ask my eldest sister. He suggested knocking her out first, then looking. We could wake her later. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I agreed. I lured my eldest sister out, then hid inside the temple while he knocked her out.”
The more Ye Mo listened, the less he understood. Qi Yulin said he hadn’t attacked. Why was Luo Fei saying otherwise?
Luo Fei continued, “I hid outside for a while. My eldest sister entered the temple. After seeing her go in, I feigned injury and cried for help. After she came out, I entered the temple. But soon, I saw her injured and unconscious. I thought he’d hurt her and feared Luo Xuan would see, so I planned to knock Luo Xuan out and then take the Ni Luo Sutra.”
“But after striking Luo Xuan, you found the Ni Luo Sutra missing, right?” Ye Mo said.
Luo Fei nodded. “Yes, I calculated that the strike would knock Luo Xuan out without injuring her. But I hadn’t expected Luo Xuan’s sudden power increase, so I didn’t knock her out. But she’d already given up on the Ni Luo Sutra. When I got the bag, the Ni Luo Sutra was gone. I didn’t take it.”
Ye Mo fell silent. Did Luo Xuan’s eldest sister really take the Ni Luo Sutra? Did she leave immediately upon hearing Luo Fei’s scream, injure herself, and return to the temple? If her wounds were faked, it was possible.
If Luo Xuan’s eldest sister took it, two possibilities existed. One: she wanted it for herself. Two: she feared the Ni Luo Sutra would endanger Luo Xuan, so she took it, intending to tell Luo Xuan later.
Ye Mo recalled Luo Xuan’s words. She’d said not to trust anyone, not even her eldest sister. Perhaps that held truth. Upon obtaining the Ni Luo Sutra, Luo Ying might have felt guilty and said this, making Luo Xuan suspicious of Luo Fei.
She scheduled a meeting with Luo Xuan a year later, perhaps to study the Ni Luo Sutra.
If true, the eldest sister’s calculations were terrifying. She not only placed suspicion on Luo Fei but also used Luo Fei to distract Qi Yulin, making him believe the Ni Luo Sutra was with Luo Fei.
Wait, if the eldest sister took the Ni Luo Sutra, would Luo Xuan be in danger with her? No, Ye Mo realized Luo Xuan should be safe. Firstly, Luo Ying probably cared for Luo Xuan. Secondly, she had to make Luo Xuan believe the Ni Luo Sutra was with her second martial sister.
Ye Mo shook his head. Even he had been tricked. Initially, he believed the Ni Luo Sutra was with Luo Fei. He’d made a terrible judgment, or Luo Ying was simply too good at finding scapegoats.
It was certain that when Luo Fei and Qi Yulin planned, Luo Ying overheard, using their plan for her own purposes. The only one completely fooled was Luo Xuan.
Ye Mo shook his head. These three sisters were strange. While their relationship seemed close, everyone held a secret concerning the Ni Luo Sutra.
Perhaps Luo Fei and Luo Ying believed their plan was secret, but surprisingly, their youngest sister, Luo Xuan, held the true secret. She'd given Ye Mo the two most precious golden papers, a secret she’d kept from her sisters.
