Watching the police take the fat man away, Shi Xiu looked at Song Xiaotan, speechless, only sighing. He realized Song Xiaotan had tried to help him with his debt.

Lan Yu sighed. “Zhongfei, should we tell Ye Mo about Qingxue?”

“Didn’t you want Qingxue to forget the past? You opposed them being together, so why tell Ye Mo?” Ning Zhongfei questioned.

Lan Yu fell silent. “I may have been wrong. We can’t undo what’s happened. I don’t know why Qingxue only lost memories related to Ye Mo, but her feelings for him were deep. I thought Ye Mo hurt her, but this has nothing to do with him. Perhaps, it’s just fate.”

Ning Zhongfei nodded. “Honestly, I opposed suppressing Qingxue’s memories. She has the right to remember. But now she’s missing… what’s the point of telling Ye Mo? It’ll only worry him. Besides, you opposed them before, and now, you want them together after this? That doesn’t seem right.”

Lan Yu shook her head. “Zhongfei, you don’t understand Ye Mo. I don’t fully understand him either, but why did the Song family stop pestering Qingxue? I suspect it’s connected to Ye Mo. We left Beijing; there’s much we don’t know.”

“That was Ye Mo? Even if it was, what right did he have to give us the position?” Ning Zhongfei was incredulous.

Lan Yu said slowly, “It’s easy to confirm. We ask Li Mumei; she knows him. Or we find a picture of Ye Mo.”

As Ning Zhongfei agreed, Li Mumei arrived, her eyes swollen from Ning Qingxue’s disappearance. She hadn’t slept well. If she’d known Ye Mo’s whereabouts, she’d have told him already. She hadn’t expected him to be in Yu State.

She dared not tell him Ning Qingxue was missing. She asked him to wait and would inform Lan Yu of Ye Mo’s arrival.

Ye Mo noticed Li Mumei’s departure and her troubled, red-rimmed eyes. Fei Yu had gotten the position, so why was she unhappy?

“What? Mumei said Ye Mo is here? Tell him to come in,” Lan Yu exclaimed, hope renewed by Ye Mo’s arrival.

Ning Zhongfei also stood. Was the man who called him ‘brother’ really Ye Mo?
