Chapter 399: Exerting Dominance Translator: Tim Editor: GlobeGlotter

Hearing about a possible reward, everyone fell silent. Who was Ye Mo? His reward wouldn't be insignificant. Money? Or something else?

Ye Mo scanned the crowd and said plainly, “Although you’ve all learned some martial arts, you understand there’s no end to it. Yellow level is only the beginning, yet only three of you have reached it. Most of you know that only ancient martial arts cultivation yields yellow level. However, these arts aren't easily passed on.”

A murmur rippled through the room. Ye Mo seemed increasingly mysterious; he could discern everyone's power level! Terrifying. They wondered who the three yellow-level practitioners were, but, since Ye Mo didn't say, no one dared ask.

Although "ancient martial arts" were legendary, most knew that yellow-level practitioners were true martial artists. Reaching yellow level wasn't easy; those who did usually belonged to major sects.

Ye Mo scanned the room, produced a pill, and placed it on the table. “This is a Chi Increasing Pill. Regardless of your training, one pill is enough to reach yellow level. If you're already at yellow level, it'll raise you at least one stage, perhaps even to black level—”

The room erupted. A pill for instant yellow level? Too tempting, too absurd. As for black level, that was largely unknown and incomprehensible.

But Metal Mountain knew. He was shocked. Daoist Xian had been black level. Even Nan Qing hadn't dared to cross him! He understood the terror of a black-level warrior.

Yellow level meant freedom to roam, even without a gang.

If Ye Mo weren't present, a scramble would have ensued.

Nonetheless, some couldn't control their desire. A small gang's leader lunged for the pill.

He thought, no matter how strong Ye Mo was, a surprise grab and escape—even fleeing Hong Kong—was possible.

Someone dared rob Ye Qianbei? Those who knew Ye Mo's strength were stunned. Did this person want to die?

Ye Mo sneered. He hadn't expected suicidal tendencies. He waved a hand; the man was flung into a corner. Before he could react, a fireball engulfed him.

The man was instantly ablaze, but didn't die immediately.

Horror gripped the onlookers. If not for witnessing it, they'd think it a movie.

The man howled within the fireball, but only his face was visible; his cries unheard.

Silence descended; a pin drop audible. The fireball vanished, leaving only ash.

Ye Mo scanned the room coldly. “This is a first offense; I'll let it go. A second time, I won't be so kind.”

He was asserting dominance. These people were scattered, unorganized. Many had shown up, but few truly understood his power or obeyed him.

Sweat beaded on foreheads. They realized Ye Qianbei wasn't easily swayed. He'd just reduced a man to dust, and that was his "kind" punishment? What about the harsh one? And his strength was absurd! Could ancient martial arts truly achieve this?

Ye Mo continued plainly, “For answers to my questions, answers I find satisfactory, I'll give a Chi Increasing Pill. Ten satisfactory answers, ten pills. No matter your level, I can raise it.”

Another uproar. They'd forgotten the incinerated man. Luck was their hope. Some were eager to send their gangs investigating.

“Qianbei, what if two people have the same result?” someone asked.

Ye Mo looked at him slowly. “Whoever is more thorough, more useful to me, gets the reward. This meeting ends. One day for investigation. I'll be here tomorrow at this time to judge. Anyone playing tricks will follow Earth Fiend into oblivion.”

His voice grew colder; he needed fear, not reason. He couldn't afford much time, so it was one day.

His words sent another shiver through them. Earth Fiend, annihilated by Ye Qianbei. Everyone knew Earth Fiend's arrogance and power. They could offend anyone, yet Ye Qianbei had uprooted them.

Those considering tricks abandoned the idea.

Leaving, Ye Mo went to the airport on personal business. … Ye Mo revisited the half-mountain mansion to see Mo Kang.

Mo Kang had been supportive when he started his company, even investing hundreds of millions. Ye Mo was grateful, so he visited.

His first visit had been heavily guarded. Now, it was deserted. He walked through, unhindered.

Using his spirit sense, he found twenty security guards kneeling on the lawn, heads bowed.

A problem? Why were Mo Kang's guards like this?

Inside, he found their meridians sealed, for hours.

Mo Kang and Mo Ping sat obediently in the living room. Maids and servants stood shakily in the backyard, motionless.

A man and woman sat before Mo Kang and Mo Ping. Ye Mo recognized the woman, Xia Ziwei, present during his last visit.

Xia Ziwei was the sister of Mo Kang's beloved, Xia Rou. He'd told Mo Kang to avoid appearing healthy around Xia Ziwei. Why was she here?

He didn't know the man, but sensed yellow level tertiary stage. Handsome, tall, but clearly tired; a lecherous type, it seemed.

Had they done this?

Ye Mo's entrance startled them. They looked up.

“Doctor Ye, why are you here?!” Mo Kang and Mo Ping exclaimed simultaneously.

“It’s you?” Xia Ziwei stood, her gaze vigilant and angry. Ye Mo had shattered her bone last time; she remembered it vividly.

Ye Mo coldly scanned her, approached Mo Kang, and asked, “Brother Mo, what is this?”

Mo Kang looked fearfully at Xia Ziwei and the man, worriedly saying, “Doctor Ye, this is private. Go. I'll visit you later.”
