Chapter 422: Don’t Want to Leave You

Ye Mo needed only a brief look at Ning Qingxue to know she agreed to his saving Daphne. He immediately turned to Eden, saying, “In that case, let’s use the fishing ship. This one isn’t convenient.”

Shawn, fear in his eyes, said to Ye Mo, “This ship has motors, too…”

Eden quickly translated. Ye Mo waved a hand. “Then, Eden, tell Shawn to pilot the boat and not to play any tricks.”

Despite not knowing Peng Shi Island’s location, Shawn piloted the boat for two days before reporting they still had a way to go. Ye Mo realized the island was truly remote.

On the third day, Eden rushed to Ye Mo, reporting he’d detected US patrol ships on radar. Ye Mo guessed they were searching for the missing Bema, but the pirate ship’s having scanned them meant they’d been discovered as well.

“What do you think, Eden?” Ye Mo asked, knowing Eden likely wanted to contact the US Navy to annihilate the pirates.

Eden exclaimed excitedly, “Of course! Contact them immediately. We can save Daphne and others, and expose the Japanese shenanigans.”

Eden, though aware of Ye Mo’s fighting prowess, considered the US Navy more reliable for assaulting the pirate cove.

Ye Mo nodded. “Okay, Eden, control Shawn and steer toward the US Navy. We don’t need to approach; as long as we don’t avoid them, they’ll come to us.”

“Right, I thought that too. But why control Shawn? He won’t dare anything with you here,” Eden asked curiously.

Ye Mo shook his head. “No, I’m leaving with my wife. I hate the US Navy. Goodbye.”

“But if you leave, will I have to row in a lifeboat?” Eden cried, fearing another ejection.

Ye Mo smiled, patting Eden’s shoulder. “Of course not. I’ll take the lifeboat; you stay. Keep piloting until you meet the Navy. Hurry and control Shawn!”

Initially thinking Ye Mo joked, Eden saw no humor in his expression. He gulped. “Are you serious?”

Ye Mo pushed him. “Yes, hurry.”

After controlling Shawn, Eden found Ye Mo, his wife, and the bird on a small inflatable raft. He had no time to wonder about its origin. “That’s too dangerous! Get on the ship!”

But the raft sped away instantly.

“I don’t even know your name!” Eden called out, but the raft was gone.

“He’s an angel, sent by God…” Eden mused, making the sign of the cross.

Ning Qingxue didn’t question Ye Mo’s departure; being with him was paramount.

Ye Mo held Ning Qingxue. “We don’t need this raft anymore. Let’s go.”

Ning Qingxue’s body softened. She was certain this wasn’t a dream. Perhaps Ye Mo had taken her to the raft for intimacy. Even if they floated across the ocean, she wouldn’t mind. She was just incredibly happy. She felt she could rely on Ye Mo, and she put her arms around him. She thought of the island’s primitive inhabitants and her body warmed. But Ye Mo grabbed Silver, summoned his flying sword, and soared into the sky.

Silver, seeing Ye Mo fly, chirped crisply from his shoulder.

The chirp startled Ning Qingxue. She looked up, still in Ye Mo’s arms, standing on a huge, swiftly flying sword.

“Ahh!” she exclaimed. The heat in her body subsided. Was she still dreaming? How could she be flying? If dreaming, she hoped never to wake.

Feeling Ning Qingxue shift and tremble, Ye Mo held her tightly. “Qingxue, don’t worry. I’m at the chi gathering middle stage and luckily gathered materials for a flying sword. That’s why I can fly. Don’t be scared.”

Ning Qingxue stared at him, surprised and joyful. “This isn’t a dream? It’s real?”

Ye Mo caressed her hair. “Of course it’s real. I won’t let anyone harm you again. Those Tai Yi daoists won’t escape.”

“En. Since meeting you, nothing else matters. I feel like I’m dreaming, actually flying,” Ning Qingxue murmured, holding him tighter. She couldn’t tell real from unreal.

“Qingxue, there’s something… but…” Ye Mo hesitated, wanting to tell her about Susu. He’d mentioned Luo Ying from his past life, but hadn’t expected her to be Ning Qingxue’s aunt. He didn’t know what to say.

Though not blood-related, she was still her aunt. In China, with its strong customs, this was significant. On Luo Yue continent, it would be normal.

Ning Qingxue saw his hesitation and smiled, kissing his cheek. “You call me your woman; why hesitate?”

Ye Mo made up his mind. “I told you I loved someone from my past life, Luo Ying. I found her…”

Ning Qingxue was stunned. “You found Sister Luo Ying? Is… is she alright?”

Ye Mo knew she wanted to ask if Luo Ying would accept her. He nodded. “She’s fine, but due to a misunderstanding, she’s gone for a while. But…”

“But what?” Ning Qingxue worried, fearing Luo Ying disliked her.

Ye Mo gritted his teeth. “Luo Ying is your aunt, Susu, so…”

Ning Qingxue froze. She hadn’t expected it. Seeing her aunt emerge from the tent with Ye Mo, she’d had a feeling. Now, she knew it was accurate.

“Aunt?” she repeated, her mind reeling. Though not blood-related, she didn’t know how to feel about sharing a husband with her aunt.

Ye Mo sighed. “Sorry, Qingxue. I didn’t expect this. Many things are beyond human control.”

Ning Qingxue felt better. Why worry? Susu wasn’t her biological aunt. Facing death, she’d decided that as long as she saw Ye Mo, she’d give up everything. Why worry about this?

She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him deeply. Ye Mo was happy; he saw she didn’t even care. Their kiss was intense, a new experience for both.

Ning Qingxue’s body softened, Ye Mo’s heart burned. If not in the air, they might not have controlled themselves. Silver chirped unhappily, feeling ignored.

Ye Mo focused. He thought of Luo Ying. Though he’d accepted Qingxue, he couldn’t betray Luo Ying before finding her.

“Thank you, Qingxue,” Ye Mo hugged her tightly.

Ning Qingxue shook her head softly. “When I regained my memories, I made up my mind. I can lose anything but you. Sister Susu isn’t blood-related, but even if she were my real aunt, I wouldn’t leave you.”

Ye Mo’s heart ached. He knew Qingxue was intensely emotional, but he didn’t expect such unwavering love. Her reckless love showed her persistence, but also burdened him.
