Chapter 485: Ye Mo is Too Frightening Translator: Tim Editor: GlobeGlotter

Han Yanโ€™s heart froze. She thought she had already overestimated Lu Ran, but found the difference between them too great. One move put her at a disadvantage.

Just as Han Yan gave up hope, a white light flicked from her wrist, forming a protective barrier. Though brief, it stopped Lu Ranโ€™s sword rays. The rays paused, then penetrated the barrier.

In that second, Han Yan gathered her qi and used the first move Ye Mo had taught her: the Ten Sword Style.

More than ten sword rays flew toward Lu Ran. Because Lu Ranโ€™s move was nearly spent, Han Yanโ€™s rays stopped his and continued forward.

Lu Ran hadnโ€™t expected Han Yan to use such strong sword techniques. Desperate, he retreated, using his sword to block. His reaction speed surpassed Han Yanโ€™s; the sword rays only cut a few slashes on him.

Lu Ran was angry and shocked. How had his sword ray been stopped mysteriously, and why did Han Yan know such a strong sword technique? He wouldnโ€™t give her a second chance. Ignoring his wounds, he launched another sword ray at Han Yan.

Ye Mo sighed. Han Yan had only learned the superficial aspects of that move. Otherwise, no matter how strong Lu Ran was, he wouldnโ€™t have dodged it. This showed him the Hundred Sword Style and Random Sword Style heโ€™d taught her would be even worse.

The moment Lu Ran retreated, Ye Mo used his killing blow, clashing sword light into Han Yan. Their sword chi clashed; Han Yanโ€™s weaker inner qi caused immense pressure. The force made her spit blood, but she bit her teeth and didnโ€™t retreat. She knew that if she did, she would lose; she wouldnโ€™t have the power for a third attack. Lu Ran was too strong.

Although Lu Ran completely blocked Han Yanโ€™s move and gained the upper hand, the direction of Han Yanโ€™s sword qi was difficult to handle, and by the time heโ€™d completely countered her chi, Han Yan had stabilized her stance.

โ€œLin, lin!โ€ Regardless of whether Ye Moโ€™s charms were useful, Han Yan used her final card, throwing out both rune papers. She had more faith in them after seeing the barrier from her bracelet.

Lu Ran sneered. She was using rune papers meant for capturing ghostsโ€”she was asking to die. Lu Ran grabbed the two rune papers, focused his sword qi, and yelled, โ€œB*tch, Iโ€™ll cut you in half for injur-โ€

Suddenly, Lu Ran stopped. He felt a sharp sword chi in the rune papers Han Yan had thrown.

Lu Ran tried to block with his sword, but the sword chi sliced through his arm and chest.

โ€œHow can this be?โ€ Lu Ranโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief at being killed by a rune paper.

Lu Ran collapsed on the stage, an arm severed, his chest a fountain of blood.

Han Yan vomited. She couldnโ€™t believe she had killed Lu Ran, and in such a gruesome way.

The scene fell silent. Lu Ran was dead, killed by a Guang Han Sect disciple. No one could believe it, but it was fact. Gourd Caveโ€™s higher-ups were stunned. Lu Ran, an important genius, had died on stage.

No one could process this trauma. Xiang Mingwang shook with anger; Yan Kai was pale. Heโ€™d been the one to send Lu Ran to the stage; heโ€™d led him to his death.

โ€œB*tch, you dare kill Lu Ran! Die!โ€ The Gourd Cave judge jumped onto the stage, his sword swirling with sharp chi, slicing toward the still-stunned Han Yan.

Everyone thought Han Yan was dead, that not even Ye Mo could save her.

As the sword light descended, Han Yanโ€™s body froze, as if in an ice cave. She felt her qi dense and heavy.

Then, the pressure vanished, and a sneer soundedโ€”Ye Moโ€™s voice. Han Yan rejoiced.

Not only Han Yan, but everyone saw a figure dash. Blood sprayed again onto the stage.

Slumpโ€”The elder fell dead beside Lu Ran.

No one saw Ye Mo attack, or how the elder died.

โ€œGo down first,โ€ Ye Mo told Han Yan. After she left, he said coldly, โ€œI said, โ€˜If you have the balls to get on stage again, Iโ€™ll make sure you donโ€™t return.โ€™โ€

Everyone was shaken. He was strong and domineering. Those who thought Ye Mo had strong backing now realized his reliance was himself. Heโ€™d killed a Gourd Cave elder instantly. Everyone knew a Gourd Cave elder had to be at least Earth Level Middle Stage. They thought Ye Mo was too frightening.

Jiu Ming Academyโ€™s Shi Zhongzhi gasped, murmuring, โ€œThis Ye Mo is so strong. I planned to fight him, but heโ€™s already at this stage. How does he cultivate? Martial Sister Xiao Yu said he killed Lone Wolf. I thought it was bullshit.โ€

โ€œZhongzhi, donโ€™t feel bad. Youโ€™re only in your twenties and already Black Level Tertiary Stage. With ten more years, youโ€™ll catch up to Ye Mo. Donโ€™t lose your will to fight before you even fight,โ€ a Jiu Ming Academy middle-aged woman said.

โ€œYes, Martial Uncle Cai Ji. I will remember this.โ€ Shi Zhongzhi bowed.

โ€œYe Mo, youโ€™ve done it this time.โ€ Xiang Mingwang roared, drawing his sword and charging onto the stage.

Feng Wu saw things spiraling out of control and signaled Zeng Zhengxia. They both leapt onto the stage, followed by the remaining Gourd Cave elders.

Ye Mo sneered; a short sword appeared. He looked at Xiang Mingwang, saying, โ€œI hope you donโ€™t run away this time.โ€

Xiang Mingwangโ€™s heart went cold. He felt the killing intent in Ye Moโ€™s eyes; heโ€™d been impulsive. The thought of Ye Mo killing an elder chilled him further. Could he do that so quickly?
