Chapter 545: High-tech Fishing Boat Translator: Timothy Editor: GlobeGlotter

An hour later, Ye Mo reached the island where heโ€™d previously searched for Ning Qingxue. The wooden house and four corpses from his last visit were gone. Someone had been there. He'd left a Black Sun logo mark last time, but it was only detectable within a certain range.

He searched the island but found nothing. Giving up, Ye Mo continued his search. His spirit sense extended 800 meters, but finding a hidden location in the vast ocean was still difficult.

He refused to give up. The Black Sun Empire, established years ago, had likely captured numerous scientists and made significant scientific discoveriesโ€”more valuable to Ye Mo than diamonds. Obtaining their research findings would shorten Luo Yueโ€™s development process by ten years.

For Luo Yue City, Ye Mo searched day and night, finding nothing for three days. On the fourth day, nearing a small island group, he sensed he was being targeted. He immediately changed locations and turned invisible.

He soon spotted a small American patrol boat. A single, small patrol boat in that location was unusual.

Closer inspection, about 100 kilometers away, revealed a flagless ship with several Japanese menโ€”Black Sun Empire personnel. Ye Mo rejoiced, understanding the American ship's presence; they hadn't found the Black Sun Empire's base either.

Regardless of how long the Americans had been following, Ye Mo decided to end the pursuit and claim the results for himself.

He flew above the American ship, preparing to attack. Meanwhile, officers in the command center watched their radar with confusion. An unidentified object had appeared and vanished.

โ€œIt appeared again! One thousand meters above the ship!โ€ a short, bearded man exclaimed.

โ€œLock on immโ€”โ€ The captainโ€™s order was interrupted by another shout.

A white flash crossed the radar screen. โ€œWhat kind of attack was that?โ€

โ€œReturn fire!โ€ the captain ordered, reacting faster than the Indonesian navy.

Ye Mo dropped his invisibility. His flying sword transformed into a ten-meter-long, three-meter-wide white ray, slicing the ship in half.

A rumble shook the ship. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on?โ€ โ€œWaterโ€™s coming in!โ€ a marine yelled. Their ship was sinking before they could even return fire.

Ye Mo retrieved his sword, shaking his head. He was too weak; a complete severance would have been more impressive. The damage was irreparable, and life rafts deployed.

Angered that they were escaping, before they reached the rafts, he sliced the ship again, ensuring a rapid sinking.

Having confirmed no survivors, Ye Mo pursued the Japanese boat. Aware of being followed, theyโ€™d initially moved slowly to plan a countermeasure, but the pursuing shipโ€™s disappearance prompted them to accelerate.

More American ships arrived at the patrol boat's sinking location, but found nothing.

After five days of pursuit, the Japanese boat stopped at a small coral island, smaller than the previous one. Ye Mo was uncertain of their activities or why so many bases were located on these islands. Two small wooden houses stood on the island. Eight Japanese marines disembarked, carrying large wooden cases. One remained outside while seven entered. All wore Black Sun necklaces.

Ye Moโ€™s spirit sense revealed the boxes were full of gold. Each weighed about 150 kg, totaling over 500 kg, or approximately $20 million. While significant, it wasn't a large sum for Ye Mo.

He carefully scanned the island, detecting numerous alarms and radar systems.

The Japanese men spoke inside, but Ye Mo couldn't understand. He remained invisible, marking the island with multiple spirit sense marks and then left. Knowing they possessed suicide poison, and unable to interrogate them due to the language barrier, he decided to wait for their return.

He moved to a coral island ten kilometers away, believing the radar wouldnโ€™t detect him in the ocean at that distanceโ€”a distance that still allowed him to sense his spirit sense marks.

The Black Sun men appeared to be settling in for the long term. Days passed with no sign of departure.

Then, Ye Mo's spirit sense mark moved. He flew above the island and found a fishing boatโ€”silent and unexpectedly fast.

Landing behind a rock, he scanned the island. He was stunned. Four boxes of gold had become forty.

He extended his spirit sense, discovering an underground bunker behind the wooden house. The Japanese had been retrieving and storing gold there, unseen during his previous visit.

They were clearly preparing to leave. The forty boxes were loaded onto the boat, the engine started, and the boat departed.

The boat's speed shocked Ye Mo. Almost silent, its engine was clearly high-tech.
