Chapter 592: Careless Man and Woman

Translator: Timothy_ Editor: GlobeGlotter

A ghost? Ye Mo watched a white figure approach the temple. From a distance, it seemed to float, shining brightly in the moonlight. He was dazed. Manifested souls were rare, and those that manifested possessed basic offensive capabilities.

Ghosts were usually invisible, but Ye Mo could scan them with his spirit sense. These beings typically inhabited special environments, such as the Heavenly Ditch or tombs.

This wasn't a ghost. Ye Mo's spirit sense clearly identified a man under a white sheet. His gait was odd; he also covered his head.

Ye Mo wondered why he was here at an abandoned temple in the middle of the night. The man appeared younger than 30 and was missing a finger on his left hand.

"Hmm—not here?" the man muttered, finding the doorway empty.

He then drew a dagger and scanned the temple. Kicking a broken mat, he cursed, "F*ck, I came here for nothing."

He pulled out a phone and called someone. Shortly after, another person arrived—a woman, a robust one, similarly clad in a white sheet and carrying a knife.

"What happened?" she asked.

"Ran away. What a loss!" the man cursed.

"I told you to come earlier, but you insisted on this time. That man looked rich; he must have been forced to stay here by an enemy. Look at the things he bought in Mount Xian—stacks of red notes," the woman complained.

Ye Mo realized they were talking about Wei Yongqian, who'd likely left during the day after shopping in Mount Xian.

The couple had planned to rob Wei Yongqian, following him to the mountain. Unable to act during the day, they came at night—only to find him gone. They'd probably used the sheets to frighten him. The woman had stayed to intercept him if he tried to escape.

"Fck, we lost a great deal. If we'd gotten him, we could have lived freely for a long time. Fck, Da Mi, let's have some fun," the man sheathed his dagger, laughing at the woman.

Ye Mo felt disgusted. This guy was incredibly careless, making love in such a place.

The robust woman sneered, "P*ss off. We didn't get the money today; I'm not letting you."

"Hehe—Da Mi, why are you like this? You know I always give you the best. When we get more money, I'll still give you the best." The man pulled her close.

The woman didn't resist.

Quickly undressing, they went to the temple's only table and began panting heavily. The man, though ferocious, finished quickly. The woman, unsatisfied, said, "If you're only going to do that, don't bother touching me."

She kicked the table angrily.

Ye Mo, about to leave, stopped. The kick sounded hollow.

Using his spirit sense, he discovered he'd missed something. Beneath the table's earth covering was a lid, and beneath that, a hole—an underground room.

They finished dressing. The man shivered. "Da Mi, why do I feel like someone's blowing cold air on my neck? It's so cold."

The woman, pulling up her pants, sneered, "You're useless, leaving me hanging like that. Don't touch me again if you're scared of the cold."

Ye Mo, using his spirit sense, found a faint ghost behind the man, too weak to do more than blow cold air. He realized the ghost's death was linked to the man. Doing too many bad deeds did attract ghosts.

Ye Mo wouldn't interfere; he wanted to see what happened.

"It's real! I felt cold air again," the man said shakily.

The woman was about to reply when she saw the white cloth slowly rise, as if lifted by an invisible hand. There was no wind.

"Ah—clo—cloth," she stammered, pointing, unable to move.

"Cloth? What—" The man turned and saw the cloth approaching.

"Aaaaaaah!" Fear rendered the couple unconscious.

Ye Mo shook his head. Had they been bolder, they could have ignored the cloth. The ghost would have been powerless.

The ghost was a victim, and Ye Mo didn't intend to burn it. He kicked the couple out of the temple. He approached the table to open the tunnel.

The ghost floated beside him. Ye Mo turned, saying coldly, "I see your plight, and I'll let you go, but if you interfere, I will act."

The ghost shivered but didn't leave, instead conveying gratitude.

"Do you know me?" Ye Mo asked, sensing this.

The ghost nodded, unable to speak. Ye Mo used his spirit sense to transmit his will. He rejoiced when the ghost responded through his spirit sense.

"Qianbei, you are indeed powerful. I, Yi Jiuhe, didn't expect to meet you twice, even as a ghost." Ye Mo was shocked.

He remembered Yi Jiuhe, a generous middle-aged man he'd met at the Luo Cang magic artefact meeting. Yi Jiuhe had even helped him when he couldn't find any artifacts.

"How could it be you?" Ye Mo was stunned. Yi Jiuhe had made a good impression. He couldn't imagine that couple harming him. He'd likely revealed his wealth in Mount Xian.
