Chapter 596: The Seven Stars of Bei Dou

The room was still there, but the wooden box Ye Mo had left was gone. He realized someone had returned and taken it.

Ye Mo carefully searched the room with his spirit sense. Ten minutes later, he found something protruding at the entrance. He pressed it, and something rumbled behind him. A door appeared on the stone wall.

Ye Mo realized he'd missed his chance. Wei Yongqian and the nun had likely been hiding in the stone cave.

He entered a tunnel, undoubtedly Wei Yongqian's escape route. The door closed behind him as he walked.

Ten minutes later, he'd pushed aside a large rock to find a cliff overlooking a river. Wei Yongqian's escape angered Ye Mo, especially the loss of the golden page.

Remembering the nun was from Ci Hang Jing Temple, one of the three major inner hidden sects, Ye Mo decided to seek them out. He wanted the last golden page; possessing all three would grant him unlimited future accomplishments, perhaps surpassing even the strongest on Luo Yue Continent.

Though Ye Mo didn't understand everything, he knew from his master, Luo Ying, that powerful cultivators possessed their own worlds, allowing ascension to the immortal realm beyond Luo Yue Continent. At stage 5 middle level, he could face any Ren Pingchuan-level master, excluding top-level great heaven masters. โ€œIf I had a worldโ€”โ€ The desire burned within him, but he dared not dwell on it.

At the Duan Heng Ranges, in the sea of clouds, Ye Mo searched again for the Duan Heng Seven Stars. Luo Xuan had told him the entrance to the inner hidden sects was at the Tian Kou position of these stars.

Duan Heng was a relatively young range. After five days of searching, Ye Mo still hadn't found the Seven Stars, let alone Tian Kou. The many similar peaks, hidden in the clouds, made the search difficult.

On the sixth day, Ye Mo searched on the ground. That night, he found a motorbike with fuel in a bush, and footprints leading away. He followed them for ten minutes to a small entrance of a large, natural valley.

Inside, Ye Mo sensed something different; the valley felt like an entrance. Despite the surrounding sea of clouds, he saw seven relatively short peaks below, arranged in a spoon shape.

โ€œDuan Heng Seven Stars?โ€ he murmured. Visible only from within, their location was cleverly concealed.

Ye Mo admired nature's wonders. Finding the Seven Stars, locating Tian Kou was easy. Atop the peak, he found a three-meter-diameter rock.

In its center lay a dead manโ€”a middle-aged man drained of blood. Ye Mo identified him as Wei Yongqian.

His death was undoubtedly related to the nun, who likely made him lead her to the sect before killing him. But the complete blood draining seemed excessive. Was she a psychopath? Furthermore, Luo Ying had said the inner hidden sects' formation was closed, so why did the nun bother?

Ye Mo, familiar with formations, didn't understand the Bei Dou Seven Stars. The rock appeared ordinary. Stepping onto it, he found it solid, but his spirit sense couldn't penetrate far. As soon as his cultivation energy touched the rock, it was uncontrollably drained.

Panic set in. He was trapped, unable to move. His chi flowed into the rock, causing him to sweat. If this continued, he'd be drained dry, just like Wei Yongqian.

Desperately, he decided to use his remaining chi to break free, risking severe injury from the backlash. That damned old nun! If she hadn't taken the third golden page, he wouldn't be in this predicament.

Gritting his teeth, he gathered his remaining chi and blasted it at the suction force. The repulsion sent him flying, spitting blood before crashing into a rock.
