Chapter 642: Private Gathering
Xu Yuehua called. Ye Mo said, “Sister Yuehua, I was just about to call you. You go first.”
“President, the Indonesian government isn’t complying. Instead, they’re ordering warships from several Western countries,” Xu Yuehua said.
Had he not heard Han Zaixin’s words, Ye Mo would have started a war without hesitation. Indonesia wasn’t that strong, but now he had to be careful. Even if he started a war, he had to protect Ye Xing and the others.
“How are you dealing with this?” Ye Mo asked after a moment’s thought.
Xu Yuehua replied immediately, “The other countries with business disputes have negotiated and we reached agreements. Only Indonesia and the Philippines remain unyielding. They refuse to resolve the conflict. We’ve suspended all cooperation projects, so they’re now demanding compensation.”
“Okay,” Ye Mo nodded. Luo Yue wasn’t afraid of Indonesia or the Philippines.
“You did well. Luo Yue will activate the war protocol. Tell Ye Xing. I’ll give more details when I return. Also, increase Luo Yue’s security. No one enters or exits without notification. Especially Ye Xing—tell him to stay safe. I suspect someone’s trying to infiltrate Luo Yue. Tell Second Brother as well,” Ye Mo said.
Xu Yuehua said, “Luo Yue’s security has already been increased following the outlet incidents. Don’t worry, I know.”
Ye Mo was satisfied. Just as he was about to hang up, Xu Yuehua spoke again, “One more thing. Liang Jun and Lu Na have been acting strangely. They want to visit home, so I said we’d decide once you return.”
Ye Mo’s heart sank. Liang Jun and Lu Na were two of Luo Yue’s scientists; a couple. They’d even brought Luo Yue’s new nuclear fission element. Most importantly, they’d escaped from the Asian Northern Sand base. They wouldn’t want to be caught again, so why leave Luo Yue now?
He had to go back and ask them. Ye Mo immediately said, “They can’t leave Luo Yue now. Wait until I return. I suspect it’s a trap; they may have been tricked.”
“Okay, I know.” Xu Yuehua hung up and immediately sent orders.
Han Zaixin said, “I know you’re busy, but if you need help with Luo Yue, I can ask the President. Luo Yue doesn’t need our technological help; theoretically, China always supports Luo Yue. If not for various reasons, we could even help with the war against Indonesia.”
Ye Mo was grateful. He knew Han Zaixin’s offer was unrealistic, but the sentiment was genuine. He wanted to help but couldn’t deploy troops due to his responsibilities.
“Ye Mo, let’s go back; there’s trouble,” Luo Ying said worriedly. She knew Luo Yue was Ye Mo’s base. His friends and family were there; something happening to it would be a devastating blow.
Ye Mo nodded. He had to deal with Luo Yue before helping Han Zaixin.
Han Zaixin said, “Go handle Luo Yue. The Ice Helm Island issue started months ago; delaying it a few days won’t matter.”
Ye Mo’s phone rang again. It was Xu Yuehua, her tone desperate. Liang Jun and Lu Na had left Luo Yue that morning, heading for Sri Lanka.
“Immediately lock down Luo Yue and control all sea routes.” Ye Mo knew their departure would expose Ye Xing, possibly revealing Luo Yue’s military structures. To prevent further incidents, he told Xu Yuehua to lock down Luo Yue without hesitation.
After the call, Ye Mo said to Han Zaixin, “Elder Han, I’ll definitely go to Ice Helm Island after resolving Luo Yue’s problems. Zhang Jue and Li Hu are my friends; I won’t abandon them.”
Han Zaixin knew Ye Mo was busy; his agreement to help was significant. Putting aside Luo Yue to go immediately was unrealistic.
…
Ye Mo left with Luo Ying; he wasn’t even interested in the ores. He needed to return to Luo Yue and solve these issues immediately.
Luo Ying realized she should cultivate more; otherwise, she couldn’t help Ye Mo. Since he’d built his own city, she should help, not be a burden.
Ye Mo squeezed her hand, “Susu, don’t worry. I’ll handle this. Also, there’s something I’ve been afraid to tell you.”
He finally had the chance to tell her about Ning Qingxue.
Luo Ying saw his awkward expression and covered his mouth, “Don’t tell me now. Let me see her first.”
Ye Mo felt even more awkward. He’d thought she didn’t know, but she did. It must have been Beiwei!
“Ye Mo,” a voice brought him back to reality.
He hadn’t noticed someone approaching. It was Wang Ying. Two people were with her; one was Su Jingwen’s cousin, Su Mei. Ye Mo hadn’t liked Su Mei in the past.
“Wang Ying, why do I see you everywhere? Don’t you need to work?” He could joke with Wang Ying.
“Is that your girlfriend?” Wang Ying looked at Luo Ying in shock.
Ye Mo nodded, “Yes, she’s Luo Ying. Luo Ying, this is my college classmate Wang Ying; she’s helped me a lot.”
“Hello, Luo Ying,” Wang Ying said nervously.
“Hello,” Luo Ying replied.
“This is Su Mei and her friend. Remember her?” Wang Ying said, pointing.
Ye Mo smiled, “Of course, long time no see.”
“Hello, Ye Mo. Your girlfriend is beautiful.” Su Mei was surprised. She’d looked down on Ye Mo before, yet he had such a beautiful girlfriend. Luo Ying was probably prettier than Ning Qingxue; he was lucky.
Wang Ying quickly changed the subject, “Wang Xu is back today. He’s starting his career in Beijing and is inviting everyone to dinner at the Kai Yuan Restaurant, right across the street. Many Beijing elites are coming. Ye Mo, if you’re pursuing your career here, you should come.”
Ye Mo smiled, “I can’t make it. I have things to do with Luo Ying. Have fun!” He’d heard of Wang Xu and had a good impression of him.
“That’s a pity. If Luo Yue came, she’d be the most beautiful woman there,” Wang Ying said.
Luo Ying said, “Ye Mo, I saw someone enter that restaurant. He was the man who pretended to be you on the plane. He took his mask off, but I’m sure it’s him.”
No matter how busy he was, he had time for this. He said to Wang Ying, “Okay, but we don’t have an invitation. Could you get us in?”
