Chapter 699: Ruthless

Yu Yuyan removed her top, leaving only her innermost pink layer. She stopped there, as Ye Mo expected. He wouldn't have minded if she'd removed it all.

Yu Yuyan quickly sat on the bed and began cultivating, seemingly unconcerned by Ye Mo's presence. This puzzled him.

Ten minutes later, Ye Mo used his spirit sense to confirm she was indeed cultivating. Seeing she posed no threat, he ignored her, took out a spirit stone, and began recovering his chi.

As he circulated his meridians, Ye Mo entered a meditative state, forgetting Yu Yuyan entirely.

Some time later, he felt softness press against him. Awakening, he found his chi flowing more freely. He estimated that with another lotus petal and a spirit stone, he could fully recover in two or three days, possibly even becoming stronger. As it was, he could already utilize invisibility magic.

Yu Yuyan was also cultivating, and Ye Mo understood. While he cultivated with the spirit stone, he inadvertently spilled some spirit chi. This woman had excellent timing. She seemed to realize she was cultivating much faster while leaning against him, thus stealing his spirit chi.

Realizing this, he put away his spirit stone. He didn't have enough for himself, let alone to share.

He spread his spirit sense and saw it was day. As he prepared to rise, a group entered. Leading them was a man under thirty, with slightly dark skin, average height, and a noticeably arrogant gaze.

He seemed self-important and high-status, accompanied by two bodyguards and a middle-aged man who resembled Yu Yuyan—likely a family member. Ye Mo recognized one bodyguard: the one who'd threatened him on the road.

"Liao Wei traveled this far, and Yu Yuyan still isn't up?" the middle-aged man ostensibly scolded the maids, but his words were clearly directed at Yu Yuyan.

He continued, "Let's have tea in the guest hall. This girl is quite something."

Yu Yuyan smiled, unconcerned. One maid rushed to her room, while another worriedly said, "Last night, Young Miss drank a little too much—"

She quickly covered her mouth, realizing her slip.

"Yu Yuyan drank last night? Why?" Liao Wei frowned.

The maid, increasingly worried, stammered, "Not Young Miss, it's that Mo Ying—he wanted to drink with her last night, no—"

Before she finished, Liao Wei stormed into Yu Yuyan's room. The middle-aged man's face paled, and he followed swiftly.

Ye Mo, observing with his spirit sense, sneered. Yu Yuyan had used him, but he didn't care.

As the maid knocked, Yu Yuyan didn't rise but instead pressed herself against Ye Mo, pulling down her lingerie and mussing her hair.

Bang—Liao Wei burst in.

Yu Yuyan sprang up, her face a mask of terror and worry. She quickly covered her chest. Ye Mo sneered, calmly dressing himself.

A strong man and a disheveled woman sharing a bed—even an idiot could guess what transpired.

"You, you!" Liao Wei pointed at Yu Yuyan, spat blood, and fainted.

"You, disgraceful thing!" The middle-aged man raged at Yu Yuyan. He sneered at Ye Mo, "Get out, now!"

Yu Yuyan looked at Ye Mo, perplexed. Usually, Mo Ying would be worried, denying involvement. His calm demeanor was unusual.

If he denied involvement, she could blame him and have him killed. His silence unsettled her.

Soon, Ye Mo and Yu Yuyan were taken to the garden. Liao Wei had recovered, but his face was green, veins bulging. He glared hatefully at them.

The middle-aged man looked defeated, seemingly aged a hundred years, asking weakly, "Yuyan, you've had a good upbringing, and Liao Wei is a fine man. Is he not good enough for you? Why did you do this? You slept with a servant? Tell me, how could you?"

His face grew paler.

Ye Mo inwardly laughed—the man appeared suicidal, yet his heart was calm, devoid of genuine anger. He mused that this father and daughter should've been in Hollywood.

"You're Mo Ying? A mere servant, daring to do this to your master! Pull him out and beat him to death!" the middle-aged man yelled.

Before Ye Mo could respond, Mu Xiaoyun rushed out, hugging him and pulling him away from the approaching servants.

Ye Mo was unconcerned. He had a new identity, his chi nearly half-recovered. If he weren't averse to trouble, he would simply kill these Yellow Level cultivators and leave.

"Your husband? Do you know what he did? He seduced the Young Miss! Such shameless people don't deserve to live. Kill him, and lock his wife up," a cold voice declared. It was a woman in her forties.

"Please, don't harm my husband, I'll be your servant, please!" Mu Xiaoyun was about to kneel, eyes filled with horror, but Ye Mo stopped her. He hadn't expected this level of concern from her.

"Mother!" Yu Yuyan cried.

"Enough!" Liao Wei yelled, staring coldly at Yu Yuyan. "Yu Yuyan, what did our Liao family do wrong? What did I do wrong? We gave you a Shang Qing Mountain disciple card as a wedding gift, and you're this disloyal? You slept with an ugly servant! You, you!"

Yu Yuyan bowed, sniffing, "I, I, am sorry—"

Liao Wei laughed, pointing at her, "No need to apologize. Return the card."

Yu Yuyan sniffed, "Sorry, Brother Liao. I was foolish. I still love you, and you can do as you wish with Mo Ying. I'd return the card and serve the Liao family to atone, but I already gave it to Shang Qing Mountain. I, I—"

Ye Mo finally understood. Yu Yuyan, seemingly innocent, was ruthless and heartless.

Without him, she would have found another scapegoat.

Suddenly, a guard whispered to Liao Wei that Yu Yuyan and the servant had been together for a long time. Liao Wei's face contorted.

Ye Mo couldn't help but admire her scheming.
