Chapter 720: Conflict with Yu Yuyan

Yu Yuyan was genuinely surprised Ye Mo had boarded the ship. She’d initially suspected Mo Ying’s connection to Goddess Zi Hua, but dismissed it as impossible. If he were related, she reasoned, he wouldn't have been harassed by Liao Wei. Still, she hesitated to provoke Ye Mo, fearing she might be wrong.
“You’re here? I didn’t expect it. Liao Wei seems quite kind-hearted; he took your wife and simply let you go,” Yu Yuyan said dismissively.
Several men approached, startling her. “Martial Sister Yuyan, who’s that ugly guy?” they asked.
Yu Yuyan sneered. “A cocky fool. His woman was taken, yet he acts so arrogant. If I were him, I’d have jumped overboard. His very existence is an embarrassment.”
She wanted no further interaction, but Ye Mo’s sardonic gaze irritated her. With her martial brothers present, she grew bolder.
Ye Mo sneered. “They say, ‘one night as husband and wife, a hundred days of feeling.’ Even if it was just one night, I slept with you and helped you get an abortion. How can you speak so condescendingly?”
Ye Mo understood her ambition: to control the men present. He wouldn’t let her succeed so easily.
“You—shameless! When did I—” Yu Yuyan trembled with rage.
Ye Mo pressed on. “How did Liao Wei know us then? He was your fiancé, yet he found us in bed together. Sigh—it’s embarrassing to even mention. Why do you force me to reveal this?”
“You—you—” Yu Yuyan’s face turned purple.
“You’re asking for death! Martial Sister Yuyan is clearly a virgin, yet you dare insult her? I, Pan Cheng, will teach you a lesson!” A man drew a long sword, poised to attack.
Ye Mo stared at him oddly. “Pan Cheng, I didn’t realize you had so much experience with women. You truly flit from flower to flower, don’t you? Perhaps the two of you should have a brawl.”
Pan Cheng saw his opportunity with Yu Yuyan, but exposure as a womanizer angered him. He lunged at Ye Mo with his sword.
Liu Lei stood by, remaining silent while Ye Mo held the verbal advantage. But when Pan Cheng attacked, he drew his curved sword.
Their swords clashed, sparks flying.
Yun Zifi watched from afar, frowning. Mo Ying seemed powerless, yet his eyes didn’t flicker when Pan Cheng’s sword nearly pierced his skin. Was he too slow to react, or entirely fearless?
“Shu Mountain friend, this is Shang Qing Mountain’s business! Why interfere!?” Pan Cheng demanded, his expression sour. Though a Yellow Level cultivator, he recognized Liu Lei’s strength, and the Shu Mountain sword sect’s superior ranking.
Liu Lei felt a surge of satisfaction. He wouldn’t dare confront Pan Cheng without his Shu Mountain affiliation.
Before Liu Lei could reply, a law enforcer intervened. “Fighting is forbidden on this ship. Further infractions will result in expulsion!”
The enforcer’s words silenced everyone; expulsion meant being thrown into the unforgiving sea, a death sentence.
“Brother Mo, join me for a chat?” Liu Lei offered, pulling Ye Mo.
Ye Mo clasped his fist in a salute. “We’re fellow hidden sect members; we’ll have ample time to socialize. We have a month left on this ship. I have some errands to run.”
Ye Mo had urgent business. Jie Xun’s absence prevented him from making an essence-increasing pill, but he aimed to reach Stage 6.
Reaching his room, he found Ji Yilan at the door. Before he could inquire, Mu Xiaoyun opened the door, embracing Ye Mo joyfully.
“Husband, you’re back!” Her joy was evident, causing Ji Yilan to frown.
Quickly composing herself, Ji Yilan politely addressed Ye Mo. “Brother Mo, might I speak with Martial Sister Xiaoyun?”
Ye Mo smiled. He looked at Ji Yilan then at Mu Xiaoyun. “Xiaoyun, go. I’ll wait here. You’ve been with me all day; you must be bored.”
“En, but I’ll never tire of my Husband.” She understood the necessity of not offending Ji Yilan while at Ice Lake.
After Mu Xiaoyun and Ji Yilan departed, Ye Mo closed the door and focused on his golden dot.
However, his mind remained blocked.
“Perhaps I’m too weak,” he murmured, taking out a spirit stone to cultivate.
…
“What troubles you, Martial Sister Yilan?” Mu Xiaoyun asked politely.
Ji Yilan hesitated. “Martial Sister Xiaoyun, Ice Lake, though a third-grade hidden sect, possesses considerable resources. Decades ago, we were among the top three. Our decline isn’t due to inferior cultivation methods, but a lack of suitable candidates. Your talent is exceptional. I believe Ice Lake can rise again with you.”
“Thank you, Martial Sister Yilan,” Mu Xiaoyun responded calmly.
Ji Yilan was taken aback by Mu Xiaoyun’s composure.
“Xiaoyun, are you aware of what lies beyond Great Heaven? Ancient martial art cultivators at that level live 200 years and can even briefly glide. Higher realms exist, but no one on the Magical Continent has reached them. Great Heaven Peak is already incredibly powerful. Those beyond Great Heaven can reportedly travel vast distances using a single feather,” Ji Yilan said, aiming to pique Mu Xiaoyun’s interest in cultivation.
Mu Xiaoyun pondered this. Only those beyond Great Heaven could glide, yet none existed on the Magical Continent. Still, her husband could carry her and fly thousands of kilometers.
A spark ignited in Mu Xiaoyun’s eyes.
Ji Yilan breathed a sigh of relief. She had finally captivated Mu Xiaoyun’s interest in ancient martial arts.
