Chapter 740: Outside Chan City

Translator: Timothy_ Editor: GlobeGlotter

Although Ye Mo desperately wanted to return to Ice Lake, once airborne, he was unsure of its direction. Just as he was about to ask for directions, his spirit sense detected a peak. Two large boulders soared high above—could it be Shuang Shi Cliff?

TL note: Shuang Shi means two rocks.

Ye Mo immediately landed. He found the name “Shuang Shi Cliff” inscribed on one boulder; the other bore the inscription “Qing Shui Sect.” However, no sect was present. Remembering Luo Xuan’s leap from this very spot, Ye Mo felt a pang of sorrow.

“Brother Ye, thank you for fulfilling my dream. Though it lasted only a night, I am satisfied.”

“It’s fine; it was merely circumstance aligning with your trust.”

“I simply didn’t want to disappoint you again. I was thoughtless.”

He felt he could still hear Luo Xuan’s words, yet she was gone. Ye Mo was consumed by pain. Unable to bear the thought, he leaped from the cliff. He didn’t know if he could still find Luo Xuan.

Only grass, leaves, and snakes lay below. Ye Mo’s heart sank. If Luo Xuan had fallen here, there might not even be a body to mourn, let alone find her alive.

He expanded his spirit sense and searched for nearly two hours, but found nothing. Ye Mo knew he couldn't waste any more time. There was nothing. The only possibilities were that her body was gone, or she had escaped. But with Jie Xun pursuing her, Ye Mo doubted she could have escaped.

He returned to the top and inscribed on the large rock with his sword: “Ye Mo came here to find Luo Xuan. He left after failing with concern.”

Soon after, Ye Mo decided to visit a city. He realized this was the largest city he had seen in this small world; neither Hang Shui nor Wu Wen compared in size. Still, he needed to find Ice Lake.

Dismounting his flying sword, he was about to enter when he saw the words “Chan City” in large letters.

“That woman was truly pretty; such a pity she ran away! Such a beautiful nun. Sigh—”

“I saw a prettier woman than her a few years ago in Huang Shui City. I planned to find her, but she ran away.”

“That nun was already injured. Otherwise, we would have been no match for her.”

Ye Mo immediately turned. He knew these men spoke of Luo Yin.

“Ah! It’s Martial Brother Mo from Taiyi Sect.”

“Hello, Martial Brother Mo.”

These men approached upon seeing Ye Mo.

Martial Brother Mo? Ye Mo frowned, then recalled Mo Youshen. These men must have mistaken him.

“You’re Horse Shit!” Ye Mo realized he knew one of them, Ma Shilong.

Ma Shilong was stunned. He stared at Ye Mo, then pointed, “You—you’re not Martial Brother Mo! You’re—you’re—”

Ye Mo sneered. He knew Ma Shilong recognized him.

“He’s not Martial Brother Mo! His clothes are strange. Something’s amiss.” The others realized as well.

Ma Shilong paused, then rejoiced. “Not bad, kid. I didn’t expect you to recover. Where’s that girl who followed you? If you give her to me, I might let you live.”

Ye Mo didn’t bother replying. He raised his hand, and four wind blades sliced off Ma Shilong’s limbs. He thrashed on the ground, screaming in terror, yet unable to die quickly.

The three others were stunned. He had done that with a mere wave of his hand!

“You dared to kill in Chan City! You’re asking to die!” one roared.

Ye Mo sneered and unleashed another wind blade. A line of blood appeared on his neck; his head exploded, yet his hand still pointed at Ye Mo.

The remaining two, clearly stronger, trembled at Ye Mo’s ruthlessness. He had killed in Chan City without restraint.

Ye Mo asked coldly, “Did you attack that nun? When?”

“Yes, yes, two days ago. We saw her returning from herb collecting. I’m a disciple of Shang Qing Mountain, you can’t—” the man stammered.

Rage consumed Ye Mo. Having found Luo Yin’s killers, he didn't need to ask further. He unleashed countless wind blades, slicing the two men to pieces.

Only Ma Shilong still convulsed, but his end was near.

The stench of blood spread; people scattered. A slaughter had occurred in Chan City. No one dared associate with him.

“Who dares kill in Chan City?” Two Earth Level Tertiary Stage martial artists arrived. Even they were disgusted. Seeing the victims were from Shang Qing Mountain, their faces changed. Shang Qing Mountain was a second-rate sect, but backed by the Qian Kun Sect.

“Hmmm—It’s you, Mr. Mo of Taiyi,” one said.

Ye Mo considered the situation. Mo Youshen hadn't died; he'd simply joined Taiyi Sect.

A chariot emerged from Chan City. Ye Mo recognized Goddess Zi Hua’s cart. He hadn’t expected to see it again.

Ye Mo used his spirit sense; it was indeed Yun Ziyi, but injured. The chariot didn't stop.

Ye Mo called out, “Goddess Zi Hua, please wait! I have something to ask.”

A cold voice replied, “Mr. Mo, I’m busy. Unless it’s urgent, I’m leaving.”

A few years ago, she wouldn’t have cared about a Taiyi core disciple. But now, the Magical Merchant Association was weaker than Taiyi. She didn't want Mo Youshen to use this against them.

“Mr. Mo!” the two Earth Level martial artists resented Ye Mo’s disregard, but dared not anger him. Mo Youshen's status was equal to an elder’s.

Ye Mo sneered, “Don’t mistake me for Mo Youshen. I’m not him. Is Mo Youshen a Taiyi Sect member? Excellent! I’ll kill Taiyi Sect members anyway; he better not cross my path.”

“What? And you dare pretend to be a Taiyi Sect core disciple? Who are you? You’re asking to die!” No wonder he seemed strange! Mo Youshen was said to be a gentleman; he’d never be so rude.

They drew their swords and attacked.

Ye Mo raised his hand; his flying sword appeared, a sword ray flashed, and two heads flew into the air, spraying blood.

“My name is Ye Mo.”
