Chapter 761: Have Some Sense
“What’s wrong?” Feng Neng’s expression sank. He extremely disliked being interrupted.
The man said shakily, “Leader, Elder Wu Bai brought back the Young Master and Elder Wu Chang.”
The moment Feng Neng heard his son was back, he knew the Chan City deal was sealed. He was quite happy his son had finished so quickly. He nodded and pulled the maid aside, “In that case, let the three of them come inside.”
Suddenly, Feng Neng thought of something and slammed the table. “Next time you say something wrong, you’ll be beaten to death.” He remembered the words, “Wu Bai brought back the Young Master and Wu Chang,” not “The Young Master brought back Wu Chang and Wu Bai.”
“Huh—No, I didn’t say it wrong. It’s Elder Wu Bai who brought—” The man was dumbfounded, still not understanding the leader’s anger.
Feng Neng sneered, his displeasure growing. He couldn’t be bothered to listen, grabbing a cup and throwing it at the man’s forehead. The cup didn’t shatter; it embedded itself in the man’s head.
The man looked at Feng Neng in shock. Even at death’s door, he couldn’t understand why the leader killed him. Was it for bothering him at a good moment? But he had been reporting something important.
Before Feng Neng could be dragged away, another horse-faced man rushed in.
Feng Neng frowned. The man was his right-hand man and secretary, Fang Kuan. His status was above the Wu brothers’; he was also at Great Heaven.
Fang Kuan was Feng Neng’s closest confidant, his longest-serving follower. When Fang Kuan was at Earth level, he’d dared to rape a city lord’s daughter. Hunted by the city lord, Feng Neng had saved him. Fang Kuan followed him, and upon reaching Great Heaven, killed the city lord’s entire family.
So, though Fang Kuan arrived at this inopportune time, Feng Neng said nothing.
Fang Kuan ignored the dead man. “Big Brother,” he said worriedly, “Young Master La Ping was killed in Chan City. Wu Chang bled to death after his ligaments were severed. Only Wu Bai returned, but his powers are destroyed.”
“What?” Feng Neng’s face drastically changed. He stood, veins popping on his forehead.
He had only one son, his jewel. Even La Ping’s secret affair with his concubine could be overlooked. But now, his son was dead, and his powerful underlings, the Wu brothers, destroyed.
“Who did this!!?? Who!!?? Arghhhh!!!” Feng Neng was beside himself, smashing the table to pieces. The two maids cowered, fearing their master’s wrath.
“Leader, Wu Bai was useless. Please punish me!” Wu Bai, having just entered and seen the furious leader, knelt immediately.
Four men carried in the bodies of Feng La Ping and Wu Chang.
Feng Neng’s face turned ashen. He went to his son’s body and saw a terrified face.
Feng Neng clenched his fists, already planning his enemy’s torture.
No one dared to breathe loudly or speak. Feng Neng could kill anyone in his rage.
After a long while, Feng Neng calmed down, sitting back. He said coldly, “Wu Bai, tell me what happened.”
“Yes, Leader!” Wu Bai took a deep breath. Knowing the young master died under his care, the consequences would be dire, but he still had to report.
“After we reached Chan City, we contacted the elders who had joined us—”
Feng Neng interrupted, coldly staring at Wu Bai. “Get to the point, skip the useless b*llshit.”
“Yes.” Wu Bai felt defeated. Even at Great Heaven, he was at most a dog to Feng Neng; now, powerless, he was worse. Before, Feng Neng had always been polite to him and his brother.
Wu Bai, dejected, rose despite Feng Neng not telling him to. He said calmly, “It was an elder from the Magical Merchant Association who killed the Young Master. His name is Chu Yizhu, a half-step Great Heaven martial artist—”
Feng Neng cursed coldly, “Chu Yizhu, a mere half-step Great Heaven man, dared kill the Sea Merchant Clan’s Young Master! How dare he! I’ll slice off his flesh and feed it to the dogs!”
Wu Bai sneered inwardly but said calmly, “At the time, Chu Yizhu kicked the Young Master. He lacked killing intent, but the young master died. I suspect the real killer is not Chu Yizhu, but Ye Mo.”
“Ye Mo. Who’s Ye Mo?” Feng Neng was stunned.
Wu Bai said calmly, “Ye Mo is the one helping the Magical Merchant Association. He killed my brother upon arrival, and the Young Master knelt for mercy. Chu Yizhu was our spy, but upon seeing Ye Mo, he kicked the Young Master to curry favor.”
“Ye Mo! No matter who he is, I’ll make him enjoy a pleasurable death!” Feng Neng’s rage was uncontainable.
“That Ye Mo told me to tell you to have some sense, Leader, because he might accidentally pass by here,” Wu Bai added.
“Hahaha! Have some sense!” Feng Neng laughed.
Fang Kuan looked strangely at Wu Bai. He knew Wu Bai wasn’t talkative, but he seemed unusually verbose today.
Ye Mo? Fang Kuan suddenly remembered someone. A few days ago, a man had killed countless masters at Magical Continent Mountain—Great Heaven martial artists were like chickens to him. He’d then annihilated many hidden sects, including Taiyi.
Most frightening was that he’d annihilated more than ten sects in a single day. These sects were far apart; it would take days by cart, but Ye Mo did it in one day. No one knew how he’d traveled so far so fast.
Everyone knew this, but no one dared speak of it.
Thinking this, Fang Kuan shivered. He was sure Wu Bai’s Ye Mo was this man. Who else could it be?
“Fang Kuan, prepare everything and come with me to Chan City. I want to see this cocky bastard. ‘Have some sense’? He better not leave Chan City. And that Goddess Zi Hua…if I don’t f*ck her to death, I don’t deserve to lead the Sea Merchant Clan!” Feng Neng’s face was hideous.
Having understood who Ye Mo was, Fang Kuan wouldn’t let Feng Neng kill himself. He quickly said, “Big Brother, that Ye Mo is probably the one who slaughtered the Great Heaven masters at Magical Continent Mountain, and annihilated Taiyi and many other sects so rapidly.”
Feng Neng, like an angry chicken choked, stopped his outburst.
Wu Bai watched his reaction with satisfaction.
