Thinking about the blood-sucking formation, Ye Mo felt a chill. He had escaped, knowing what to do, but what about Luo Ying and the others? He reasoned they were safe; otherwise, he wouldn't have found only rocks upon his emergence. He rejoiced at their safety. "What's wrong, Brother?" Ye Ling asked anxiously.

Ye Mo waved his hand. "It's fine. They've gone to the small world. I'll join them after attending to matters here."

Despite her being in her thirties, Ye Mo patted her head. "Ye Ling, you're all grown up now. Haven't you found someone you like?"

Ye Ling's lips curved upward. "Brother, I've considered some people, but none compare to you. I might as well remain single."

Ye Ling leaned close, whispering, "Brother, how about this: I'll marry you. We're not related, and you already have multiple wives."

"Really? Brother, I can cultivate?" Ye Ling's earlier concerns vanished.

Excitement filled Ye Ling; cultivation, like Beiwei's, was her greatest desire.

"By the way, Brother, I have something to ask you," Ye Ling said, her tone playful once more.

"What is it?" Ye Mo looked at her curiously.

Ye Ling smiled. "Hehe, did you ever... abandon a woman and child?"

Ye Mo stared, indignant. "Ye Ling, what are you saying? Am I that kind of person? Besides, I would never betray Susu and Qingxue—" His voice trailed off, remembering Xiaoyun. Yet, he hadn't been irresponsible towards her.

"Brother, there actually was such a thing?" Ye Ling was shocked. She'd been merely probing.

Ye Mo coughed awkwardly. "Um, yes. I need to find her after I'm done here."

"Brother, that's unacceptable! She's raising a daughter for you, and you're saying 'later'?" Ye Ling exclaimed.

At Ye Mo's wedding, she'd seen the woman and child. Initially unfazed, later discussions with Beiwei led them to suspect the girl was Ye Mo's illegitimate daughter, the woman a neglected mother.

Ye Mo looked at her strangely. "Ye Ling, what are you talking about? Xiaoyun was never pregnant; how could she have a daughter?"

"Huh, were we wrong?" Ye Ling wondered.

"Wrong about what?" Ye Mo asked.

Ye Ling said awkwardly, "At your wedding, Beiwei and I saw a woman with a little girl. The woman was beautiful, and the girl's eyes looked just like yours. I remember giving her a bracelet."

Ye Mo was speechless. Too many people resembled each other; basing a paternity claim solely on eye similarity was far-fetched, wasn't it?

"Regardless, let's go to Luo Yue Lake. Who's living there now?" Ye Mo asked.

"Just me, since everyone left," Ye Ling replied.

As they approached Luo Yue Lake, a large bird flew overhead.

"Hmm, Qingxue didn't take Silver?" Ye Mo asked.

"No, they planned a quick return. Silver's been with me," Ye Ling said, hugging the bird.

"Brother, five years ago, Sister Jingwen and a girl named Chi Wanqing came looking for you, but you never returned. They stayed a while before leaving Luo Yue," Ye Ling remembered.

She felt sorry for Jingwen. Ye Mo felt guilty as well, but three wives were already quite enough.

"Where did they go? How long did they stay?" Ye Mo felt he should visit them. Jingwen must be married by now.

Ye Ling hesitated. "I don't know where Sister Jingwen went, but she lived in Ning Hai. Sister Luo Ying taught her cultivation during their half-month stay at Luo Yue."

"Ye Ling, stay at Luo Yue and assist City Lord Huang. I need to go out for a while. When I return, I'll make the Five Essence Pill for you," Ye Mo said, knowing he couldn't rest easy until Dongfang Wang was dealt with.

Ye Ling nodded. Her phone rang.

"It's Sister Yuehua, Brother," she said, handing him the phone.

"President, a cruiser was bombed in the Pacific this morning. It left Luo Yue a fortnight ago and had a US ambassador aboard. The bombs contained radioactive materials. The US is contacting us," Xu Yuehua reported.
