Chapter 793: Yimo's Danger

The more Ye Mo listened, the more he felt the black figure resembled Yan Wuliang, a member of the All Gu Sect. Every member of that sect was a Gu master; even injured, they wouldn't let Song Yangzhu escape. Ye Mo frowned, sensing something amiss. Song Yangzhu, though injured and weak, had no Gu planted within her. He was certain of this. Yimo also appeared healthy.

"What's wrong?" Song Yangzhu asked worriedly, noticing Ye Mo's frown.

Ye Mo placed his hand on Song Yangzhu's back, running his cultivation essence through her body for a check. He found nothing. Her body felt warm afterward, and she instinctively hugged him tighter.

He patted her back. "Let me check Yimo, too." The possibility of the assailant being from the All Gu Sect unsettled him.

"What's wrong with Yimo?" Song Yangzhu asked, shaken. Yimo's well-being meant more to her than her own.

Ye Mo said gravely, "I suspect the person you saw was from the All Gu Sect. They're inhumane, unreasonable, and masterful at Gu manipulation. I need to check if Yimo is alright."

Song Yangzhu's worry intensified as Ye Mo left. She had heard tales of the All Gu Sect from her masterโ€”a not particularly large, hidden sect in Miao Jiang, yet their unpredictable methods made even the six major sects wary of conflict.

"You're awake? Didn't you sleep?" Ye Mo asked Yimo upon entering.

"Dad, you're here! I just woke up. Are you going to teach me cultivation?" Yimo inquired.

Ye Mo smiled. "I will, but I'm busy today. Why don't you go out with your mother and buy some clothes?"

"Where's Mom?" Yimo asked.

"She'll be here soon. Show me your wrist. Let me check you." Ye Mo examined Yimo's face; it wasn't perfectly healthy, but not sickly either.

She offered her hand without hesitation. Ye Mo carefully searched her chakra points and meridians with his cultivation essence, twice, finding nothing. He breathed a sigh of relief. Yimo seemed fine. Perhaps the attacker was too severely injured, and the bracelet had offered protection.

Just as he was about to withdraw his hand, Yimo exclaimed, "Mom, you!" She gasped, staring at Song Yangzhu in disbelief. Her mother looked unbelievably young and beautifulโ€”a stark contrast to her memory of ten years prior.

It must be Dad's immortal magic, she concluded, her eyes shining with admiration. She had to learn his skills!

Yimo's cry alerted Ye Mo to something different about her.

"Mom, you're so pretty! You could be my older sisterโ€”no, my younger sister!" Yimo exclaimed, hoping to ease her mother's visible tension, despite noticing her rejuvenated appearance.

Song Yangzhu approached the bed, sitting down and asking worriedly, "How is she? Is Yimo alright?"

Ye Mo, checking Yimo a third time, remained silent, his expression worsening. He detected something, though not a live Gu, merely a mark. The perpetrator, he was sure, was at least as strong as Ren Sha, possibly stronger.

"Has Yimo been sickly, or shown anything unusual?" Ye Mo asked.

Song Yangzhu shook her head. Yimo was remarkably healthy, rarely falling ill. After a moment's reflection, however, she added, "Yimo does get headaches occasionally. Each time, I buy a black chicken and make a stew with Tian Ma for her. She always recovers within a week. It happens about three times a year."

This confirmed Ye Mo's suspicion: something more potent than a Guโ€”a Pill Gu. A Gu master would implant a Pill Gu, ideally into a child. Harmless until maturity, it would then kill the host, devouring its life force to form a pill-like Gu for the master's cultivation. Few used this method due to the long maturation time. Pill Gus typically matured at eighteen. Yimo would turn twenty soonโ€”the Gu master's return.

Both Song Yangzhu and Yimo were shocked. Had the black-clothed man not wanted Song Yangzhu to raise Yimo until twenty, both would be dead.

"What do we do?" Song Yangzhu was close to tears.

Ye Mo patted them both. "Don't worry, I can remove it. Yimo, lie on your mother and turn your back to me."

Removing a Pill Gu was difficult, but for Ye Mo, manageable. He located it near Yimo's right shoulder, sealed escape routes, and made an incision, carefully encasing the pea-sized object in his cultivation essence before placing it in a prepared vase. He then administered a Lotus Life Pill, checked Yimo thoroughly, and finally felt reassured. Only Yimo deserved such a potent pill for a minor injury.

Song Yangzhu, witnessing the extraction, breathed a sigh of relief. "I was so scared. I never imagined such cruelty existed."

Ye Mo, however, seethed with murderous intent. Yan Wuliang's metal card had been irrelevant since entering the small world, but now, he needed to go to Miao Jiang and obliterate the All Gu Sect.
