Chapter 975: Mo Yue City

“Yes, Brother Ye, you should start a sect, and we’ll be the first generation disciples,” Li Jingwen said eagerly. He had followed Ye Mo for some time and knew his wealth better than anyone. Regardless of whether Ye Mo established a sect, his future would be unparalleled. Joining a sect founded by Ye Mo would secure him a position, rather than simply remaining a follower.

“How about we call it the Mo Sect?” Yu Qiyang also hoped Ye Mo would found a sect.

Ye Mo nodded. The Luo Yue continent was vast. Even with his power, he couldn't single-handedly contend with eight- or nine-star sects; currently, even four- or five-star sects posed a challenge. China Pharmaceuticals served as a stark example. To establish himself, he needed his own power; to avoid easy annihilation, forming a sect was the logical choice.

“Okay, starting now, we’ll have a new sect. We’ll call it the Mo Sect for now…” Ye Mo hesitated, then continued, “But ‘Mo Sect’ doesn’t sound powerful enough. Let’s incorporate my Luo Yue City as well…”

After a moment’s thought, Ye Mo declared, “Let’s call it Mo Yue City.”

Ye Mo envisioned more than just a sect; he wanted to create a city. Unlike other sects that seized territory and dominated it, he wanted Mo Yue City to embody Ning Qingxue’s ideal: a place of peace and freedom. He knew this was idealistic and unattainable in its entirety, but he still hoped to achieve it. He didn't want the people of Mo Yue City to define their lives solely by cultivation; he wanted them to pursue their own paths and live their own lives.

“Mo Yue City—a good name,” Li Jingwen and Yu Qiyang applauded. While they didn't fully understand its significance, it sounded fitting.

And so, Mo Yue City was formed, though they lacked even their own land. Ye Mo didn't formally accept them as disciples, but they would receive his tutelage.

In the following days, Ye Mo visited Su Jingwen several times. She was dedicated to her cultivation, so he didn't interrupt her. He found a private room and focused on studying the Heaven Glory Pill and cultivating the Purple Eye Soul Severing and Five Element Mobility techniques.

Days passed swiftly. A fortnight later, Yu Qiyang advanced from Foundation Establishment Level Three to Level Four. Li Jingwen reached Golden Core Level Eight. Despite consuming abundant spirit crystals and pills, Ye Mo remained at Golden Core Level Two.

Another half-month later, Li Jingwen announced their nearing approach to Pei Hai City in two days. Ye Mo ceased his cultivation and visited Su Jingwen.

Upon seeing her, he was astounded. In a single month, she had reached Chi Gathering Level Five.

“You’re Chi Gathering Level Five?” Ye Mo asked incredulously. The activation of her hidden spirit root had yielded astonishing results.

Su Jingwen smiled sweetly and nodded. “My spirit chi intake seems only slightly faster, but my cultivation progress is exponentially greater. I’ll freshen up and then join you on the ship’s deck.”

Ye Mo shook his head; it was clear Su Jingwen’s cultivation speed would soon surpass his. He needed to expedite his research of the Heaven Glory Pill; otherwise, she would reach Soul Formation before he could provide the necessary support. It wasn't simply awkward; his weakness could leave them vulnerable to future threats. Even reaching Pei Hai City wouldn't guarantee their safety.

He was relieved, however, that Su Jingwen could cultivate the method he provided.

Su Jingwen approached Ye Mo, refreshed and with a noticeably improved demeanor.

“Is something troubling you?” Su Jingwen was perceptive; despite Ye Mo's silence, she sensed his unease.

Ye Mo sighed, taking her hand and leading her to the deck. “It’s nothing significant. Someone with ill intent gave me a pill. It’s potent, but I hesitate to use it, so I've attempted to dissect it. I've consumed over half, yet I can’t identify the final main ingredient.”

The Heaven Glory Pill had five main ingredients; the supplementary ingredients were readily available. Ye Mo possessed four main ingredients: Smoke Zhi Lan, Yellow Three-Leaf, Red Light Fruit, and he just needed the Water Magic Artifact Weed. He wasn't overly concerned about obtaining it.

However, without the final ingredient, he couldn’t concoct the Heaven Glory Pill.

Su Jingwen laughed. “You hesitate to consume it because you suspect something’s amiss?”

Ye Mo nodded. “Yes, I doubt that person was benevolent.” The voice from the hexagonal hall still haunted him.

Su Jingwen squeezed his hand and smiled. “Were there any issues with the herbs you isolated?”

“No,” Ye Mo replied instantly.

“Then that’s it. The missing herb is likely the one intended to harm you. You can disregard it,” Su Jingwen explained. While not as skilled as Ye Mo in other areas, her business acumen and experience with corporate intrigue proved invaluable.

Ye Mo felt a surge of understanding. Why hadn't he considered that? If the recipe was independent of the missing herb, he had essentially already discovered it. He was now fifty percent certain he could concoct the pill, pending acquisition of the Water Magic Artifact Weed. Success would rapidly propel him to the Golden Core Peak Stage. Ye Mo excitedly embraced Su Jingwen. “Thank you, Jingwen, you’re incredibly clever.”

Su Jingwen blushed, noticing Li Jingwen and Yu Qiyang. She quickly disengaged. “There are others present.”

Ye Mo laughed, his spirits lifted. He gestured toward the two men. “Jingwen, we have our own sect now. It’s called Mo Yue City, and they are the founding members.”

Su Jingwen repeated joyfully, “Mo Yue City, what a beautiful name. I envision a magnificent city.”

Two days later, Ye Mo stowed the flying cloud boat, and the four entered Pei Hai City.

The bustling streets teemed with cultivators, each bearing the faint scent of the sea. Spirit sense and anti-flight restrictions were in place. He easily spotted Golden Core and Nascent Soul cultivators, while Chi Gathering and Foundation Establishment cultivators were ubiquitous. A few Hollow Spirit cultivators also passed occasionally. Clearly, this was a significant cultivation city.

“Where do we go now? Are Yangzhu and Ye Ling truly here?” Su Jingwen asked anxiously. She longed for stability after years of displacement.

Ye Mo shook his head. “I’m unsure, but Yangzhu did leave the jade card. They should have arrived long ago. Let’s visit some pill towers; they might have opened another one here.”

Ye Mo reasoned that if they stayed, they would need income. He had left behind significant quantities of pills. Opening a pill tower was the most probable course of action.
