Chapter 122: The Diamond Ring from Mr. Augustine

Olive was startled. She looked at Elvis and said, "Tell them not to bow."

Elvis smirked. "Mrs. Augustine, keep your head high. You're the boss's woman!" He reached out and lifted her. Olive hadn't expected this in front of such a crowd. She wrapped her arms around his neck, exclaiming softly.

"Mr. Augustine, what are you doing?"

She weighed less than sixty pounds. Elvis easily carried her down the red carpet.

"If Mrs. Augustine is shy, she can hide in my arms."

Embarrassed, Olive pressed her face against his chest and let him carry her. Once they reached the elevator, it opened, and they disappeared from view.

Pamela watched, a sharp pain piercing her heart. Rage and hatred filled her. She should have been in Elvis's arms!

She ran forward, but a staff member stopped her. "Please stop, ma'am. Our CEO has taken his wife to the top floor to celebrate her birthday. You can't go in. Please leave, or we'll call security."

Patrick and Monica rushed over, grabbing Pamela. "I'm sorry, let's go now, Pamela, please!" They pulled her away.

Upstairs, Elvis said, "Open the door yourself."

Olive pushed it open. Balloons exploded, showering her with golden ribbons and confetti. She gasped. The walls and roof were glass; she could see the dazzling blue sky and stars.

"Wow, how beautiful," she murmured.

Elvis leaned against the door, hands in his pockets. Olive wore a nude pink tulle dress, her long hair braided. He placed a wreath of flowers on her head.

"My princess, do you like it here?"

Olive nodded happily, tiptoed, and kissed him. "I like it, thank you, Mr. Augustine."

Elvis put his arms around her waist and led her to the cake. He lit the candles. "Princess, what birthday wish do you have?"

Olive clasped her hands, closed her eyes, and wished to be loved by Elvis always. She blew out the candles. "Happy birthday to me!"

Elvis whispered, "Mrs. Augustine, what did you wish for?"

"If I tell you, it won't come true," she replied, sticking out her tongue.

"Mrs. Augustine, you're a year older. Be more realistic. Only if you tell me will it come to pass."

Olive snorted. "I won't tell you!"

Elvis chuckled, handing her the knife. "Princess, let's cut the cake."

Olive cut the cake and found a diamond ring inside. It sparkled brilliantly. She looked at Elvis, her lashes fluttering. "Mr. Augustine, you got this for me?"

"Do you like it?" he asked, his eyes intense.

Olive raised her chin. "Mr. Augustine, confess your love to me."

"You're bold, aren't you?" He took the ring, wiped it, and slipped it onto her finger, then kissed her.

The kiss was passionate, breathtaking. Olive turned her head, picked up some cake, and wiped it on his cheek.

"Mr. Augustine, you're too bad!"

The kiss ended. Elvis stared at her reddened lips. He clasped her shoulder, pressing his cheek to her face. "Lick it off, or I'll—"

Olive's heart pounded. Frightened, she quickly licked the cake off his face.

Elvis smiled. Olive raised her foot and playfully kissed him. "Mr. Augustine, is today your birthday or mine?"
