Chapter 127: Kneel, Pamela

Greg's face was pale. Divine didn't want to waste another second on him. She passed him and walked to the pharmacy.

Olive stood at the pharmacy door. Her bright eyes regarded Divine with surprise and warmth. Divine's heart warmed, and she ran forward.

"Olive!"

Olive hugged Divine, then stepped back to look at her properly. "Divine, how much have you lost? I just saw you surrounded like a celebrity. How have you been? You're so beautiful."

Divine blinked. "Olive, this is all thanks to you. Your recipe was really effective. Thank you so much."

"No, no need to thank me. You put in all the effort."

The girls chatted happily, but Greg felt numb. Initially, he'd been proud of Divine's transformation, but now, ignored by Divine, his pride vanished. The students laughed loudly, mocking him.

"It seems Divine really doesn't like Greg anymore." "Honestly, Divine really endured Greg's excesses. I really wish she doesn't give him another chance." "Now that Divine looks more beautiful, I'm certain lots of boys will be after her."

Greg clenched his fist as he listened to his colleagues' whispers. The humiliation was mortifying.

"Look, Pamela's here!" someone yelled.

Although the tension had eased, this was the students' first glimpse of Olive and Pamela since the incident. Pamela looked haggard, a far cry from her usual glamorous appearance. The black dress she wore only emphasized her distress.

Greg approached Pamela quickly. "Pamela, are you alright?"

Pamela shook her head and said softly, "Greg, I'm sorry I implicated you in my mess."

She looked pitiful. Greg replied swiftly, "Pamela, don't do this. You're not guilty of anything."

Pamela turned to Olive. Her pale face betrayed her distress. "Olive, this is all my fault. I apologize. Please forgive me. Don't blame my family and friends, please don't hurt them."

Olive hadn't expected such a pitiful display. "Pamela, so you're playing the innocent victim, right?"

Pamela took two steps forward, tears falling. "Olive, I really don't know what I did wrong. Please tell me."

"President Augustine and I are old acquaintances. He spent a million dollars to help Hart's Medical. He's charming, handsome, and rich. I admit I admired him, but we maintained our principles and didn't cross any lines. Liking President Augustine isn't a crime," Pamela sobbed. "The internet mocks me, but everyone knows I didn't know you and President Augustine were married. You know this too. Olive, why didn't you tell me you were Mrs. Augustine beforehand? Then I could have gotten over my feelings for Elvis. Dad threw a birthday party, but you chose to humiliate me in front of the world. Did you really hate me that much?" Pamela paused, her face blurred with tears, her shoulders shaking. Her pitiful appearance immediately garnered sympathy.

Divine was furious. She stared at Pamela with disgust, recognizing her masterful acting. She wanted to confront Pamela, but Olive held her back. Olive looked directly at Pamela, her eyes unwavering. Pamela's tears couldn't hide her cold calculation.

"Olive, I know you hate me. You know Dad sent you to the orphanage. Well, it's all my fault. I'm on my knees!"

With a thud, Pamela knelt. Gasps filled the room. Olive, however, wasn't surprised. Pamela was the same as ever—capable of anything to achieve her goals, and public humiliation was just the beginning. Olive remembered Pamela protecting her from harm in the past to gain her trust.

"Olive, I'm on my knees. I've received threats from your fans. Some threatened to find me and hurt me. I'm really scared, please forgive me."
