Chapter 173: Dean Sebastian Robert Returns
Pamela retrieved her phone and searched her gallery for a photo. Finding it, she thrust the screen into the reporters' faces.
The crowd gasped, excitedly examining the picture. It showed Olive in Marvin's arms.
Before Pamela could confront Olive, a white hand snatched the phone with lightning speed. Pamela was stunned. The photo was her trump card!
"Olive, what are you doing? Give me back my phone!" Pamela tried to retrieve it, but Olive swiftly tossed it out the window into the lotus pond.
A splash, then calm.
What!
Everyone was astonished. Who would have thought Olive would steal Pamela's phone and throw it in a pond?
Pamela was dumbfounded. She'd planned to use the photo to ruin Olive's reputation.
"Olive, are you crazy? Why did you throw my phone in the pond! You're guilty! You're afraid I'll release your cheating photos!" Pamela gritted her teeth.
Olive, anticipating Pamela's move, had seized the opportunity. A playful smile flickered in her bright eyes. She said calmly,
"Pamela, you have no evidence now. Who knows what was on your phone? Maybe you were planning to expose your own nude photos."
Pamela was furious. Olive had preempted and counterattacked! With her phone and trump card gone, Pamela could only clench her fist in hatred. She glared at Olive and muttered,
"Olive, no matter what you do, you were photographed. You still need to explain yourself to the public!"
A deep, dignified voice sounded from the doorway.
"I returned from an academic seminar to find our institute a sensation. Did I miss something?"
Everyone turned to see Dean Sebastian Robert entering with Director Hudson and other leaders.
Dean Sebastian Robert had returned! An academician of high prestige.
"President Robert is back!" "Welcome, Dean!"
Dean Sebastian sat down, restoring order to the chaotic room. He asked gently,
"What happened here?"
"Dean Sebastian, we caught Olive alone with a male friend. We believe she's cheating." "Dean Sebastian, we're curious about how Olive joined the Ivory Council." "Dean Sebastian, the Council has been in the news. It's rumored Olive single-handedly boosted its prestige. What do you say?"
Reporters thrust microphones forward, but Hudson quickly intervened, blocking them.
"Our Dean just returned. We won't be giving interviews. The Ivory Council is a place for medicine, not gossip. Leave, or we'll call security."
The reporters backed down.
Pamela, silently observing, admired Dean Sebastian. She'd come to the Ivory Council hoping to study under him. She almost knelt to express her admiration, but hadn't expected his return so soon.
Dean Sebastian raised his hand.
"Director Hudson, it's alright. I can say a few words."
Would he answer the reporters' questions?
What!
The reporters realized their visit was incredibly valuable—a chance to interview the Dean upon his arrival in LA.
Pamela's eyes lit up. She was sure Dean Sebastian wouldn't like Olive, especially given her unconventional entry into the institute. Humiliating Olive would be perfect.
Dean Sebastian's gaze fell on Marvin.
"Marvin, I didn't expect you to be here just as a friend. Don't you deserve a name?"
All eyes turned to Marvin, who remained calm amidst the commotion.
A reporter asked,
"President Robert, what do you mean? Does he have a special status?"
Dean Sebastian chuckled.
"Didn't you know Marvin Augustine, the second young master of the Augustine family? It's a pity that modern media reporters are so poorly informed. In previous generations, they were far better!"
Most attendees of the imperial academic forum were respected, older academicians. Marvin was an exception.
