The Substitute Bride: Doted by My Billionaire Husband by Sumpto Midway
Chapter 30: She Asked Him to Find Another Woman
Olive, worried about Elvis's condition, quickly lifted the blanket and stood up. She looked around the large room but couldn't find him. Had he gone out?
"Elvis!!"
The bathroom door suddenly opened, and a large hand reached out, pulling her by her slender arm. Olive saw it was Elvis.
He had showered and was wearing a black shirt and trousers. His short, black hair dripped with water.
"Looking for me?" Elvis's voice was hoarse.
Olivia raised a hand and touched his forehead, which was hotter than before. The tonic had been strong.
Elvis grabbed her wrist and buried his face in her neck. "Olly, I'm very uncomfortable."
Olive's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected such a strong, domineering man to act like a baby.
"Olly, I've showered several times, but it still doesn't help. I was here alone; why did you come looking for me?"
His hoarse whisper softened her heart.
"II didn't mean to disturb you. I'll go now."
Elvis interrupted. "You always do this. You leave people behind. Now that you're here, you think you can still leave?"
He raised his hand, his fingertips resting on her pajamas, and began to unbutton them. Olive's eyes narrowed, and she instantly stopped him, remembering a phone call she'd made to him during his business trip. A woman had answered—his lover.
What was she to him? Just another lover?
A wave of coldness washed over her, and she regained her composure.
"Mr. Augustine, if you're uncomfortable, find another woman."
Elvis froze, slowly raising his head. His narrowed eyes, filled with scarlet, stared fiercely at her.
"What did you say?"
She didn't flinch, despite his terrifying expression. "Mr. Augustine, if you need a woman, go find one."
Rage filled him. His eyes clouded. She had actually told him to find another woman!
Elvis clenched his fists and, in a split second, punched the glass mirror in front of him. Olive instinctively closed her eyes. His fist shattered the mirror, and blood flowed from the lacerations.
It was shocking. "Elvis, your hand"
Elvis released her and stormed out of the bathroom, slamming the door. Olive was distraught. She was caring for her unconscious Aunt Rebecca.
Two days later, Elvis still hadn't returned. Mrs. Samantha told her he'd gone on another business trip. Olive knew this was an excuse to avoid worrying the old woman.
It was noon when Olive's phone rang. It was Gabriella.
Gabriella's triumphant voice filled the phone. "Olive, come to KissLand bar tonight. Dare you show up?"
Olive, determined to repay Gabriella, knew this was her chance. "Okay, I'll be there on time."
KissLand Bar.
Olive found Gabriella and Pearl already there. Gabriella threw her hands up. "Olive, what do you see on my finger?"
A large diamond ring adorned her index finger. Before Olive could speak, Pearl gasped.
"Wow, Gabriella, did Derrick get that for you? He gave you a diamond necklace on your birthday, and now this! He really loves you."
Gabriella, seeking a hint of envy, looked at Olive proudly. "Yes, Derrick gave it to me. In two days, we're having our engagement party, and then he'll propose."
"Gabriella, I really envy you. Marrying into the Domino family is every girl's dream in this city."
Gabriella searched Olive's face for envy, but found none. "You pretend to be calm, but you must be envious. Derrick is mine, and he loves me. You can't take him away!"
Olive smiled lightly. "Don't worry, I won't steal your Derrick, and at your engagement, I'll give you a special gift!"
Gabriella scoffed, believing Olive couldn't possibly give her a special gift.
Olive's phone beeped. A message from Derrick: "Come to KissLand bar, I have something to show you."
What a coincidence.
Olive glanced at Gabriella and Pearl and replied, "I'm at KissLand now. Private room two."
Putting her phone away, Olive said, "Gabriella, come out; I have something to tell you."
Gabriella, curious, followed Olive out, leaving Pearl alone in the room.
Bored, Pearl drank two glasses of Gabriella's wine. The wine was delicious but potent. Her face flushed as she became tipsy. The private room door opened, and Derrick entered majestically.
