Chapter 71: A Gold Necklace

Olive’s face flushed crimson. “Elvis, you’re shameless!”

He laughed softly. “Go sue me for domestic violence. I’ll even help you find a lawyer. Go tell the world I spanked you.”

Olive kicked him. Elvis pulled her close, removed her mask, and kissed her. She covered her lips, frightened. He then kissed her fingernails, surprising her. His lips next found her loose black hair, adorned with a cute hairpin.

He was captivated by her. Olive felt his affection, a cherished feeling for any girl.

“Mr. Augustine, I should go. North will be looking for me.”

Elvis chuckled, gazing into her eyes. “Grandma said to ask if you need help.”

Olive knew Mrs. Samantha referred to her Ivory Council application. “No, thank her for me.”

Elvis, though knowing her resourcefulness, persisted, “Are you sure you can handle this?”

Her eyes rolled. “I can’t even ask for your help. You’d be caught between Pamela and me. And today, my father wants you as his son-in-law, while Pamela wants to be your bride…”

He fiercely kissed her. Olive pushed him away. He buried his face in her hair, whispering, “You’ve been with North for two days. Aren’t you okay? Come home with me.” He sounded like a child begging.

Olive shook her head. “I’m not ready.”

Elvis pulled out a necklace and put it around her neck. She felt its coolness.

“It’s for you. Do you like it?”

He’d already given her a cake; now a diamond necklace. His actions resembled those of a boyfriend seeking forgiveness.

Olive nodded. “I like it.”

“Kiss me if you like it.” He eagerly kissed her.

Olive quietly entered the house. North leaned against the wall, her eyes scrutinizing Olive. Olive avoided her gaze, feeling guilty.

North pursed her lips. “Elvis visited.”

“Yes, he did.”

“You weren’t lying about the kissing stage. He kissed you for a long time. He seems to love kissing,” North observed, focusing on Olive’s swollen lips.

Embarrassed, Olive changed the subject. “North, let’s eat.”

North brought a plate, fork, and knife. While cutting the cake, she noticed the necklace.

“‘One Love’? From Mr. Augustine?”

“Yes, it’s called ‘One Love.’" North, a fashion and jewelry expert, continued, “‘One Love’ is rare. The last one was auctioned; I’m sure this is it, as they haven’t released any since. I didn’t expect Mr. Augustine to be the mystery buyer.”

Olive shyly caressed the gold necklace.

Meanwhile, Pamela had arrived early at the Ivory Council to begin her work. She was well-known among the students. Greg, the research team leader, favored her.

“Familiarize yourself with the environment. Ask if you need help,” he instructed.

Pamela smiled sweetly. “Mr. Greg, thank you, you’re so kind.” He admired her.

Pamela glanced around. “Is my sister, Olive, here?”

Since leaving the Hart family home, no one had heard from Olive. The Ivory Council was secluded, with no internet access.

Greg shook his head. “Everyone admitted has arrived. I haven’t seen that name, and didn't Olive just graduate high school? How could she be admitted?”

Pamela took a sip of coffee. Olive had lost. Everyone had been betting on her admission; Pamela expected Olive to be mocked.

A voice sounded near Pamela’s ear. “Pamela, are you looking for me?”
