Chapter 73: She Agreed to the Bet

It was an impossible task. Olive looked at Hudson, her clear eyes piercing his. She nodded firmly. "Understood, Director Hudson."

She had agreed. Pamela and Greg stared at her as if they'd seen a ghost. Although Hudson disliked Olive, he remained silent.

"The three of you should return to your respective posts."

After saying this, Hudson coldly glared at those recording the incident on their phones. He reprimanded them loudly. "Don't you have something to do? Do you want me invited to my office?"

The onlookers, having witnessed a fantastic show—already streamed online—quickly dispersed. Hudson Donald also left.

As soon as he was gone, Greg glared at Olive. "What method did you use to get into the Ivory Council?"

Olive stared back. "Why should I tell you? Are you my friend?"

Pamela scrutinized Olive from head to toe. Olive had won the bet and entered the institute. Her method remained a mystery, but Pamela was certain Elvis had helped her. He was the only one who could pull off such a feat; with his order, anyone could gain entry.

Envy filled Pamela's heart; she loathed Olive. However, her beautiful face betrayed nothing. Instead, she said worriedly, "Olive, the bet was just sibling rivalry. Now that you're in, can you pass the test?"

"Yeah, that's the question," Greg echoed. "Can you pass the test? Go in and see how big our pharmacy is. You can't possibly memorize all the substances in three days. Leave now, to avoid future humiliation."

Pamela added angrily, "This has become a big deal. Even the medical research institute is involved. Olive, how long can you keep this up?"

Olive watched them, her brows furrowed. "It's my business. You don't need to worry about it. We'll all see how it ends." With that, she left and entered the pharmacy.

"Pamela, your sister is arrogant," Greg muttered, "but don't worry, she'll be humbled."

"Greg, thank you for always helping me. I'll treat you to dinner sometime."

Greg was filled with admiration for Pamela. Lost in his thoughts, her phone rang. It was Gwen.

Pamela excused herself and answered. "Hello, Gwen."

Gwen's angry, anxious voice responded, "Pamela, what's going on? Olive actually entered the institute! We lost the bet! North's fans are laughing at us. We've been slapped in the face!"

Pamela's expression remained unchanged. She murmured, "This must be Elvis's doing."

"What! He gave her his card, and helped her get into the Ivory Council? I don't know what kind of love potion that girl gave Elvis," Gwen fumed.

Pamela was quiet. Gwen, sensing her anger, quickly changed her tone. "Pamela, what should we do now?"

Pamela pursed her lips. "There's nothing to do. Now that she's here, Olive has to prove herself to avoid being kicked out. In three days, Director Hudson will surely expel her. Don't worry; we'll have the last laugh."

Gwen, thinking of the director's test, agreed. They would have the last laugh.

Hudson had returned to his office. Colleagues approached him. "Director Hudson, what method did Olive Hart use to get into our institute?"

"That's right," another said. "Olive only graduated from high school and has no medical experience. How could she be admitted?"

Hudson shared their opinion. Olive's admittance was a shame to the prestigious Ivory Council. However, as director, he couldn't reveal his feelings.

"Everyone, return to your posts. I gave Olive a task to test her medical abilities; she'll be sent away if she fails."

After they left, he poured himself a glass of water. He admitted he was deliberately trying to get rid of Olive. It was impossible to memorize twelve thousand names in three days.

He would have barred her entry, but he remembered a call the previous night from the dean, who had personally admitted Olive.

Olive opened her social media. Her followers had increased from eight million to twelve million. The trending searches were all about her.

Netizens commented:

"Olive really got in! Unbelievable!"

"I thought the others were certain she wouldn't get in. Lol." This triggered counter-opinions.

"Don't be too complacent; the test is in three days. I hope someone won't be embarrassed."

Olive knew drama was inevitable. A large portion of LA had been defeated. She put away her phone and entered the pharmacy.

A chubby girl ran out, smiling enthusiastically. "You're Olive, right? My name is Divine."

Olive smiled at the pretty girl. "Hello, Divine."

"Olive, I've heard your story. I admire you. I really want you to stay here, don't—"
