Chapter 91: He’s Sick Again

Olive felt ashamed and wished she could disappear. Elvis bent his head and kissed her again.

"No!" Olive quickly covered her lips, preventing him.

Elvis stopped. His eyes, lazy with longing, rested on her.

"You're unreasonable, ruthless," he said. "Now you're sane and pushing me away."

"I was drunk," Olive muttered defensively. "You shouldn't take advantage of vulnerable people."

Elvis scoffed. "If I had taken advantage of you, you'd be in my bed."

"I'll give this back to you." He held out a coin.

Olive's head buzzed with shame. He slid the coin into her hand.

"This is too little," he said. "Save it." He walked away.

Olive covered her face. The coin felt hot in her hand. Finding unexpected courage, she threw it at him.

It landed on his back and fell to the ground. Elvis turned, fastening his black belt.

"Huh? Don't come close!" Olive's eyes widened in fright as she hid in the bathroom corner.

Seeing her fear, Elvis chuckled hoarsely. He glanced at her slender waist, outlined by her wet clothes, then quickly turned and left. He couldn't tease her; he ached for her.

Olive noticed his shirt and trousers were wet, the damp shirt revealing his massive chest. She glanced at his waist, where his trousers hugged him tightly. She quickly splashed water on her face, shaking off the thoughts forming in her mind. After showering and cooling down, she went to the room.

Elvis had already showered and was wearing black silk pajamas. His neatly cut hair was still damp. He sat on the sofa, legs elegantly crossed, reviewing documents.

It was the first time Olive had seen him work. He looked up.

"Are you hungry? Come eat."

A bowl of potato porridge, snacks, and side dishes sat on the table—clearly freshly prepared. Having only had drinks at the bar after studying at the Ivory Council, Olive was starving. He'd already considered her needs.

She sat beside him. "Mr. Augustine, aren't you eating?"

"I already ate."

"Oh," Olive murmured, knowing better than to disturb him. She sat at the table and began eating.

She noticed an ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts. Elvis looked unwell. He hadn't slept well since she'd been gone. The dangerous part of him was awakening.

He reached for another cigarette, but a hand snatched it away. His mouth was then filled with something.
