Natalia couldn't believe her eyes. Alpha Leo, Jason's supposed friend, was attacking him! Without hesitation, she rushed to Jason's side, charging toward Alpha Leo. He hadn't shifted yet. He seemed to have appeared within the pack, already waiting for an opportunity to strike Jason, rather than coming through the forest.

As she approached, numerous wolves intercepted her, attempting to prevent her from reaching Alpha Leo. She glanced at Jason, his wolf form writhing on the ground. Eric was fighting Alpha Leo, but Leo held several stakes.

Natalia tried to push past the wolves, but they attacked en masse. Despite her immense size, their relentless biting wore her down. Then, a black wolf appeared, intimidating the others. Already weakened from battling a giant wolf, they were overwhelmed by this new threat.

Natalia turned to Adrian, who met her gaze.

"Go inside the pack house," he muttered through their mind link.

"Are you crazy?" she roared.

Adrian groaned as the wolves attacked him after releasing Natalia. She looked at them, torn. She wanted to help Adrian, but realized he might have orchestrated the conspiracy against his brother. 'Maybe Alpha Leo is in on it,' she thought, abandoning him.

She charged toward Alpha Leo again. Eric had bitten his hand, but Leo had stabbed him in the ribs. Natalia stopped, howling. She couldn't bear to see Eric like that; he was her close friend.

She tried to reach him, but Alpha Leo's beta stopped her. She unleashed her fury on the beta, biting its neck, lifting it, and slamming it to the ground repeatedly.

Alpha Leo turned, his eyes widening as he saw Natalia. Her proximity prevented him from concealing his shock.

"Who are you?" he demanded, unable to recognize her.

"Your end, you bastard. How dare you touch my brother?" Natalia snarled.

The battle raged. She saw Adrian fighting other wolves, moving toward her, though it seemed many wolves were fighting amongst themselves. She frowned, noticing Adrian killing one of Alpha Leo's officials.

Were they attacking separately to seize the pack? She suspected both Alphas were vying for the throne. She'd have to deal with both, but Alpha Leo, the immediate threat, had to be dealt with first.

Alpha Leo was stunned as she advanced. No wolves could stop her from reaching him. She bit his leg, intending to replicate her attack on his beta.

But Alpha Leo was prepared. As she bit him, he plunged a wooden stake into her neck.

She groaned, releasing his leg. The world seemed to spin.

"That's poisonous, Natalia. Get rid of it," Eric's voice echoed in her mind.

She looked at him; he lay on the ground, his wolf form staring at her, anguish in his eyes.

"Eri—"

She howled as someone bit the stake, attempting to remove it. It was Adrian. She couldn't fathom why he was helping her. Without speaking, she…
