Listen to this chapter:

Doctor Harold stared at Natalia for a moment, then briefly glanced at Grace and Lucas Miller before returning his attention to her.

"Natalia?" he mumbled.

Natalia approached him. "How are you, Doctor Harold?"

"Good. It's been a long time."

"Yes, a very long time."

From his expression, Natalia understood he was unsure whether Adrian had captured her or if she had returned to the pack. Though she wanted to thank him, she refrained, instead saying, "I came here to see Uncle Lucas."

He nodded, his tone low. "Oh, I see."

The other doctors, unfamiliar with Natalia, observed her. She stepped aside to allow them to examine the patient.

"Harold, my son, is everything alright?" Grace asked.

Doctor Harold gave her a small nod before going to Lucas. Natalia noticed a file in his hand.

"The report's in. We need to speak with Alpha," he told Grace, referring to Adrian.

"There's no need to talk to him. You can tell me about my health," Lucas said, his comment understandable given a recent argument with his son.

"But Mr. Miller, this is serious. I can't say anything in his absence," Doctor Harold explained.

Natalia saw Doctor Harold's nervousness; something was wrong with Lucas's health. A doctor helped Lucas lie down and another administered an injection.

"This will provide some relief," the doctor said.

"What's happening to my husband?" Grace demanded angrily.

Natalia sighed and approached Doctor Harold. "May I see the report?"

Her request surprised everyone. Doctor Harold frowned, seemingly confused, but handed her the file.

Natalia opened the file and read the initial report: Lucas's wolf was showing signs of weakness due to an overdose. Her eyebrows shot up. She silently read through the symptoms and suffering detailed in the report.

The room fell silent. After finishing, Natalia looked at Doctor Harold. "He needs a cure for the overdose."

"Overdose? Of what?" Grace asked incredulously.

Doctor Harold's eyes fixed on Natalia. "How do you know all this? How do you know he needs a cure?"

Natalia avoided his gaze. She was a top medical student who had spent the last four years at the pack hospital, but hesitated to reveal this to Adrian's parents. Instead, she asked, "What treatment will help him?"

Doctor Harold, understanding her strategy, didn't expose her. "He needs the wolf vine cure. It heals our inner wolf."

Grace was relieved, hopeful for her husband's quick recovery. However, a doctor interjected, "Our pack doesn't have it. It's very expensive."

Grace frowned. "Expensive? Do we lack funds? My husband—"

Doctor Harold interrupted. "Mrs. Miller, calm down. He didn't mean it that way. Only healers can create the cure" He explained that Doctor Max, their most powerful healer (and Natalia's mentor), was out of the pack.

Natalia knew about the cure. She saw Lucas sleeping from the injection, and Grace's misty eyes. After a deep breath, Natalia addressed Doctor Harold.

"Don't worry about the cure. I'll handle it."
