"Wait," I said.

I knew he was driving toward the Blue Blood Pack, but I wasn't going back tonight. Agreeing with Uncle Lucas didn't change the fact that this would be the worst week of my life for a long time. Adrian hadn't let me relax for a single day, so staying in his pack for a week was essentially giving him more opportunities to insult me.

"Why am I so emotional? Shit! I can't even say no to them," I muttered to myself.

"Miss? What happened?" the driver asked, turning to look at me.

"Go to a hotel."

He shook his head, eyes widening in surprise. "Alpha Jason will kill me," he whispered, his voice trembling. "I can't let you stay in this pack another day."

"I'll talk to him. Don't worry. I plan to stay for a week."

He had no choice but to obey. Starting the car, he set the navigation to a five-star hotel.

Looking out the window, I felt the cold breeze tickle my nose. I stared at my lap for a while, wanting to call Jason but unable to dial his number. If he found out I was staying, he'd be furious. Eric wouldn't support me either. Finally, I called my father. He was the one who always spoiled me; I thought he couldn't say no.

"Dad," I said the moment he answered.

"Natalia, have you left yet?"

His question surprised me. "No, Dad," I murmured.

"Then don't leave the pack today. Leave tomorrow."

I was taken aback. "Why, Dad?"

"That pack is dangerous. I don't want you to get into trouble at night."

"Dad, there's something I need to tell you," I mumbled.

Sensing something was wrong, he asked, "What happened, Natalia? Is everything okay, my dear?"

Taking a deep breath, I decided to be honest. "Dad, everything's okay, but I have to stay here for a week."

Silence.

"Dad?"

"Why? Have you changed your mind about him after seeing him again?"

His misunderstanding startled me. He thought I was still emotional about Adrian, but that wasn't it.

"What? No, Dad. It's not about Adrian. I don't even want to see his face. It's about his father. He needs a cure, and I think I can help."

"Natalia, you don't have to do so much for his family. He doesn't deserve it."

"Dad, please. Try to understand. Alpha Lucas always treated me like a daughter. Even though I was his gamma's adopted daughter and neglected, he always respected me. How can I refuse him?"

I explained that when I was an orphan and my adopted parents mistreated me, Alpha Lucas saw my potential.

"He wants the cure from you?" my father asked, misunderstanding Alpha Lucas's motives.

"No, Dad. I want to help him. The doctors said the cure needs to be injected after a week; he just wants me to stay." I prayed he'd let me stay. If he agreed, he could manage Jason, too.

"Dad, please."

"Natalia, you're a grown woman. You have the right to do what you think is best. If you want to stay, I won't stop you."

His words conveyed his unhappiness, but ultimately, he respected my decision.

I sighed. "Thank you so much, Dad."

"But what about Aria and Noah? They've never been away from you this long. Should I send them to you?"

"No, Dad. They should stay away from this pack. I'll keep in touch. They won't trouble you."

"They're our babies. They've never troubled us anyway."

I relaxed after talking to my father. I just hoped this week would end quickly and that Adrian wouldn't make my life any harder.
