Listen to this chapter:

Adrian’s mood was disastrous all day. He hadn't gone to the hospital after speaking with Natalia, deciding he wouldn't care for her again. He hated himself for his feelings toward her the previous night.

"Alpha, we lost the deal. Some of our people betrayed us," his secretary said, his voice barely audible.

Adrian angrily threw the file away, rising to his feet and startling his secretary, who recoiled, lowering his head.

"How did we lose the project? Who dared to betray me?" Adrian demanded coldly, his stress palpable. While others might assume it was due to the lost project, the reason was different.

"WHO?" he roared.

His secretary nearly fell to his knees. "Alphas from the east side wanted to send their products to the Blue Blood Pack."

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "What did you say? Which pack?" he gritted out.

"B-Blue Blood Pack."

Adrian growled, a sound so loud it shook the entire floor, silencing everyone in fear. Everyone knew the Alpha's temper had exploded; no one was safe.

Beta Patric rushed into the office. "What happened?" he asked, noticing the file on the floor. He saw Adrian's fierce expression and his secretary trembling.

He turned to the secretary. "What happened?"

The secretary explained, his eyes widening as Adrian fumed.

"So that's why Alpha Jason came to my pack. I thought he…" Adrian muttered angrily. Alpha Jason had distracted several of his pack members, who were also businessmen, and convinced them to sign a contract with him. Adrian believed those who defied him would pay, but he wouldn't let Alpha Jason go scot-free.

His anger wasn't solely about the business deal; his blood boiled over how Jason had gotten close to Natalia. Images of them together flashed in his mind.

He suddenly wanted to confront Natalia. He grabbed his jacket and headed for the door.

"Where are you going?" Patric asked.

"Pack hospital," he replied, hurrying out.

The company fell silent, everyone fearing Adrian's wrath.

He arrived at the hospital minutes later. People bowed as he walked directly to Natalia's room. He found another woman in the bed. He frowned and turned to the nurse, who bowed.

"Where is Natalia?" he demanded.

The nurse mumbled, "If you're asking about the previous patient, she left at noon."

"What? Left where?"

"I don't know, Alpha. Someone came and helped her with discharge papers, and they left together."

Adrian stormed into Doctor Harold's office, grabbing him by the collar before he could speak.

"Alpha? What happened?" Harold asked, shocked.

"Who came to discharge her?" Adrian demanded, his jaw clenched, fist tight around Harold's collar.

"Alpha, I don't know."

Adrian released him, running a hand over his neck.

"Yeah, you don't know. But you two were exchanging flowers and all."

Harold looked away. "Alpha, you're misunderstanding. We're just good friends."

"Friends? Okay. Now tell me. Where is she?"

Adrian's grip tightened. "Who gave you permission to let her leave?"

Harold gasped for air. "I-I'm sorry, Alpha. But it's the rule that no one can stop a patient if someone close to them wants to take them away."

"Who?"

"I don't know him."

Adrian stepped back, controlling his rage. "If I find out you're lying, I will kill you."

Harold coughed violently as soon as Adrian left. He drank a glass of water; he had nearly been killed.

Adrian considered leaving, but decided to visit his father. While walking to his father's room, he wondered who had taken Natalia. He hadn't even asked if it was a man or a woman.

He found his mother beside his unconscious father.

"Adrian," she exclaimed, surprised.

"How is he?" he asked, approaching the bed.

"His health is responding well."

Adrian nodded, looking at his father. His mother stared at him, then said, "Why didn't you tell me about Natalia? She was here, and I didn't even know. It's good that I saw her today when she was leaving."

Adrian's attention snapped back to his mother. "You met her when she was leaving?"
