Natalia's POV

My family was worried about my health. This is why they stayed with me from the moment I returned to our pack.

My twins were scared by my bandages. They'd never seen their mother in so much pain.

As Harold said, it took a week for me to recover. It wasn't easy, but my family helped me.

"I can't understand why your scars suddenly appeared. It seems your wolf stopped concealing them," our pack's elder physician said.

I visited him after recovering. My parents sent me; they said he was a well-wisher.

He wasn't an ordinary wolf, but a hybrid with wizard blood. He could solve any problem.

"So, if her wolf wants, she can reveal every scar her body has hidden for years?" my brother, Jason, asked.

We sat on a black mat; the elder sat opposite us.

"No, it's not quite that. I think the accident startled her, a fear of death that weakened her."

"Really? How did she regain her strength?" Jason inquired.

"Her mate's closeness. It lessened her fear."

Hearing this, I remembered my wolf's relief when she saw Adrian. She felt safe knowing her mate had come to rescue her.

Fate felt like a rat trap. The moment I entered Adrian's pack, I found my mate. Why? Why him?

"She doesn't have a mate; that's irrelevant. Give her another solution to stay strong. She's powerful. I don't want her to go through that again."

The elder shook his head. "She has something unique—the ability to hide her past and hunt for her future. When she was a little boy—it's a bond between you siblings."

I looked at Jason, who regarded the elder calmly. His words reminded me of when Jason found me in the forest

I held Jason's hand. He patted it, indicating he'd do something about the scar on my right hand.

"Do something about her hand scar," Jason told the elder.

The elder examined the scar and shook his head, startling me.

"I'm not a fortune teller, but I can tell you a little. It's a crucial scar, reminding you of your past. It was invisible for years, but it reflects what you've done."

Jason frowned. He disliked his words. "Do you mean she committed a sin, and must bear it?"

The elder chuckled. "I see the Alpha's family is protective of their lost princess. But fate has its own plan, Alpha. Sometimes"

"Stop beating around the bush, Qadir," Jason snapped, annoyed.

"Alpha, your sister understands. She can answer," Qadir said politely.

I told Jason we should leave; I felt unwell, as if the air was bad.

Jason helped me into his car.

"What did he mean?" he asked.

I was confused. Why did Qadir say I understood?

Did he mean I wanted to get rid of Adrian, but the mate bond was destiny?

Everyone was unaware of our bond. I hid it. If my parents knew, they'd try

I didn't want to marry then. Falling in love scared me.

I couldn't answer Jason, and he didn't press me.

After a silent drive, Jason told our parents what Qadir said.

Eric looked at me. I shook my head.

"Natalia," Dad said.

"Yes, Dad?"

He paused. "I think it's time the world knows who you are."
