Natalia’s POV

“It’s nothing to do with you, Adrian. Just let go of my daughter—”

Adrian hung up, sending a surge of anger through me. I removed my phone from my ear and stared at the screen.

A few minutes earlier, Beta Patric’s call informing me about Aria had brought immense relief; I’d finally found her. Until then, I’d been frantically searching. However, discovering Aria was with Adrian sparked a new, deeper fear. I was lost, unsure of what to do.

How could Adrian be so cruel? He kidnapped a little child!

“What did he say?” Eric asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.

I shook my head.

“He wanted to know about their father. I think he’s learned something.”

Eric’s eyebrows shot up. “What does he know?”

“I don’t know, Eric. He said he’d send me an address, but he won’t let me take my daughter until I tell him the truth. How can I?”

I tugged at my hair in frustration. No matter my success, my prestige, or the projects I’d taken from him, he knew my weakness.

I was in my room. My family knew about Aria’s disappearance and were searching. When Patric's call ended, I

“Natalia, what are you doing?” Eric asked, watching me approach my closet.

Ignoring him, I opened the closet, unlocked a drawer, and pulled out a gun.

Eric’s eyes widened. “What’s wrong with you?”

He tried to take the gun, but I moved away.

“Don’t stop me, Eric. He wants the truth, right? I’ll tell him everything, and then I’ll kill him. I can’t let him hurt my children. I’ll kill him before he even thinks about it.”

“Don’t do anything in anger,” Eric pleaded, grabbing my wrist. Tears streamed down my face, fueled by rage. “NO, I CAN’T!” I shouted.

“What do you think he’ll do to my children after learning the truth? He’s Adrian Miller. He’ll never let me live peacefully with them. He’ll hurt them or take them away. I can’t lose them.”

I bit my lip, fighting back tears and anger. I looked at the gun and nodded. “It’s the best way to teach him a lesson. I can be a killer, but I can’t lose my children.”

Eric wrestled the gun from me just as I was about to pull the trigger.

“You can’t do that, Natalia. Please understand. We can’t hurt him; he was here for the party our Alpha arranged. Jason will be in trouble—it’s against the law. We can’t harm a guest Alpha. It will cause chaos.”

I stared at Eric, thinking of my brother. I couldn’t endanger Jason because of me.

“Then what do I do?” I asked, losing my patience.

Eric put the gun back in the closet. (It was Jason who’d given it to me, for my protection.) He hugged me, and I sobbed. “I don’t know what to do. What will he do when he learns the truth?”

Eric stroked my head, trying to calm me. His next words froze me.

“He’ll never know the truth. Your children are protected by spells.”

I looked up at him, stunned. “W-What?”

“When they were born, Alpha Martin summoned Qadir to the pack house to bless them. Your mother also asked him to cast a spell to prevent their father from recognizing them. He’s powerful, with a wizard’s blood—he could cast such a spell.”

I stepped back. I had no idea my parents had done this.

It dawned on me: Adrian, a powerful Alpha, couldn’t smell his own children. His wolf couldn’t recognize his pups—because of the spell.

“W-What if he’s learned the truth, and that’s why he’s calling?”

Eric shook his head. “No one can break Qadir’s spell. He’s no ordinary wizard; his wolf helped him cast it. It’s incredibly powerful.”

Relief washed over me. “What do I tell him?”

“Lie to him.”

Just then, I received a message from Adrian, the hotel address.

“Aria will be with you soon,” I murmured. “Just don’t let him intimidate you.”
