“Another pack? Which pack?” I asked, standing up.
Eric sighed. “You know I have a friend in that pack, but he can only provide information about the competition.”
I understood. He had a trustworthy friend who didn't share personal details.
“It’s okay, Eric. I believe in our project.”
He nodded.
We left my cabin; it was time to return to the pack house.
I was grateful for Eric’s help. He was not only my brother’s beta but also assisted me with the company. I had nothing else to offer him beyond my gratitude. I wished him a quick finding of his soulmate.
Back at the pack house, I saw my parents and brother leaving.
“Where are you going?” I asked, hurrying towards them.
“Visiting your uncle. He’s very sick,” my mother said, her voice strained.
Her brother lived in another pack, requiring a multi-week absence for the visit.
“What happened?” I asked.
“His doctor says he’s in his final days.”
I hugged her. My brother told them to call if they needed him. I escorted them to the entrance and waited until they left.
“Mommy? Where are they going?” Noah called from behind.
Aria and Noah approached. “To visit Grandma’s brother,” I said.
We entered the pack house. I spoke with Jason about my children. I was leaving for a conference tomorrow and worried about them.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of them. They won’t leave the house.”
“Thanks, brother.”
That night, I slept with my children, instructing them to behave and stay with William and the maids. They promised not to cause trouble.
The next day, I went to my company to arrange the project, calling a meeting. Eric provided tickets for our managing director and financial manager. Eric and Damia would accompany me.
In the evening, I said goodbye to my brother and children, then headed to the airport.
The six-hour flight took us to the Storm Forest Pack. Many Alphas from other packs were at the airport, also attending the conference.
“I’ve booked the best hotel,” Eric said, taking my luggage.
“Can we explore the pack?” Damia asked excitedly. It was her first time away from her pack.
“Sure. If your boss agrees, I can arrange a tour. We can celebrate our victory after the party.”
“After party? What are you talking about?” I asked.
“Natalia, the Storm Forest Pack is celebrating their new agreement with a party. Everyone’s invited.”
“Oh.”
I didn’t want to stay long, even if we won, because of my twins. After the deal, we’d have another meeting with the pack.
Hotel staff collected us. We drove to the hotel. We would stay there tonight, attending the conference tomorrow.
Once settled, I called my children. After talking to them, I went to bed. My thoughts kept returning to the project. This deal would elevate my pack company, surpassing even the most advanced.
A knock interrupted my thoughts. I wrapped a scarf around myself and opened the door to find someone holding a large bouquet of red roses.
“Excuse me?” I asked. He moved the roses, revealing an unfamiliar man.
“Miss, this bouquet is for you,” he said, smiling gently.
“For me? I think you’re at the wrong room.”
“No, Miss. Are you Natalia Hansley?”
“Yes.”
“Then this is for you.”
He handed me the roses. Seeing his uniform, I realized he was from the hotel. These were likely for all CEOs attending the conference.
After thanking him, I closed the door. I placed the bouquet by the bed and smelled the roses. ‘Who sent roses at this hour?’ I thought, chuckling.
As I was about to sleep, I noticed something inside the bouquet. I found a small card:
“Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow! But someone said you seemed overly confident about the deal. Let’s find out if anyone can shake your confidence.”
