Chapter 101: Remarry
After braiding Estella's hair, Roxanne led her outside. She turned and saw Lucian standing at the door. His warm gaze instantly vanished, replaced by indifference. He said politely, "Breakfast is ready. Let's go downstairs." He then turned and left without waiting for them.
Roxanne remained rooted to the spot. His expression had changed—a fleeting moment, but she wondered if she had imagined it. Snapping out of her reverie, she led Estella downstairs.
Estella sat next to Lucian at the dining table. Roxanne was about to sit opposite them when Estella tugged at her sleeve.
"Ms. Jarvis, why don't you sit beside Ms. Estella?" Catalina chuckled, sensing Estella's intention, and pulled out the chair next to the little girl.
Estella nodded and looked expectantly at Roxanne. Roxanne glanced at Lucian, who sat stiffly, averting his gaze as if unconcerned about her seating. Estella tightened her grip on Roxanne's sleeve.
Roxanne hesitated before sitting beside Estella. During breakfast, Roxanne and Lucian both subconsciously helped Estella with her food. Tiny wrinkles of joy crinkled around Estella's eyes as she obediently ate everything on her plate.
After breakfast, Roxanne checked her watch. It was time for work. She got up to leave, but Estella seemed reluctant to let her go.
"Essie, be good. I need to go to work. I'll visit you another day, okay?" Roxanne held Estella's chubby hand, reassuring her.
Estella grudgingly released Roxanne's top and waved goodbye. Roxanne grinned, patted her head affectionately, and left.
Before work, Roxanne went home to change clothes and check on her sons. As soon as she arrived, the boys rushed to her. "Mommy! Why didn't you come home last night? Did something happen?"
Lysa chuckled, explaining, "They worried all night and woke up early."
Roxanne nodded and told them about caring for Estella. Learning Estella had been ill, the boys anxiously asked, "Is Essie alright? Is she seriously ill? Can we visit her?"
Roxanne reassured them, "She had a slight fever but is better after sleeping. You'll see her at kindergarten." She didn't want them to encounter Lucian, so she didn't suggest a visit.
The boys nodded obediently.
Meanwhile, Aubree followed Roxanne's car to the Farwell residence, becoming furious and unable to sleep. She ordered a subordinate to watch Roxanne and report her departure.
The next morning, during breakfast, Aubree received a call confirming Roxanne had left the Farwell residence.
"B*tch!" she snarled, ending the call. "She can't wait to get back together with him!" Fear gripped her. "She spent the night at the Farwell residence! I've never spent a night there; Lucian always asks me to leave after dinner. He treats her differently…"
The more Aubree thought about it, the more frantic she became. Her mother, Gina Walker, noticing her distress, asked, "What's wrong? Why are you so upset?"
Aubree gritted her teeth. "That b*tch Roxanne spent the night at the Farwell residence! If I don't stop her, she might remarry Lucian!"
Gina's expression hardened. "We haven't seen Sonya in a while. Let's invite her for tea. You can tell her about this."
