Chapter 1038: Release My Brother

The hooligans looked surprised after hearing Aubree's offer and glancing at the cash. โ€œAre you sure weโ€™re going after two kids?โ€

The sheer amount offered made them suspicious; they assumed Aubree was sending them against trained fighters. To their surprise, Aubree frowned impatiently. โ€œAre you taking this job or not? Suit yourselves if not!โ€

They instantly agreed, pointing in the direction Aubree indicated. โ€œOver there, right? We'll go now!โ€ They sprinted towards Archie and Benny. Aubree smirked, imagining the trouble the boys would soon face.

Unaware of the impending danger, Archie and Benny walked along. Benny worriedly asked, โ€œArchie, does this mean we wonโ€™t see Essie again?โ€ Estella had been sent to the Farwell main residence, a location unknown to both of them. Even Benny's hacking skills proved useless.

Archie frowned. โ€œIt wonโ€™t come to that. Essieโ€™s smart; sheโ€™ll find a way to contact us!โ€ They continued their walk, approaching busier roads.

The Farwell residence, situated on a vast plot of land in a remote area, was still some distance away. They hadn't gone far when several tall young men appeared before them. Benny's head hung low, still thinking of Estella.

Archie, however, stopped warily, raising a hand to halt his brother. Benny looked up, confused.

Archie calmly tried to negotiate, knowing they were outmatched. โ€œThis is all the money we have. I can get more at home if needed.โ€ They only had one hundred dollars left from their initial two hundred for taxi fare.

The hooligans examined the bill, smirking, remembering Aubree's substantial offer. โ€œKid, we don't hold a grudge, but since we've been paidโ€ฆโ€

Hearing this, Archie pushed Benny, shouting, โ€œRun!โ€ He fled behind his brother. It was clear the hooligans were up to no good, likely hired. They must be after us!

โ€œDonโ€™t run! You wonโ€™t outrun us!โ€

Startled, the hooligans quickly gave chase. Being taller and faster, they easily caught the boys.

โ€œWhat do you want with us?โ€ Archie struggled. โ€œIโ€™ll go with you! Release my brother!โ€

The hooligans found his plea amusing. โ€œYouโ€™re quite protective, kid. Touching, but money talks.โ€

They exchanged glances, then dropped and surrounded the boys. Archie, distressed by their predicament, remembered his decision to sneak out and find Estella, with Benny tagging along. He had to bring Benny home unharmed. This thought spurred him into action. He gathered some pebbles and threw them at the hooligans nearest Benny.
