Chapter 115: We Will Protect You
Archie, Benny, and Roxanne arrived at Universe Park. Although Archie and Benny wanted to cheer their mother up, they also planned some fun. Immediately upon entering, they tugged at Roxanne's hands, pleading to visit Jurassic Park. She agreed, and they spent time engrossed in the dinosaur exhibits.
Leaving Jurassic Park, they went straight to the ET Adventure Ride, enjoying a space-bicycle trip with ET. Roxanne felt tired after these two rides, but Archie and Benny, still energized, continued their spree. Each ride prompted photo requests, which their mother readily granted. The children's antics erased the negative emotions of the past few days.
Meanwhile, after his conversation with James, Lucian felt it crucial to contact Roxanne immediately. He called, but she didn't answer. His expression fell; he'd almost forgotten her ruthlessness. Not only had she ignored his explanation, she'd blocked his number, seemingly determined to shut him out.
"How did it go?" James asked, his heart sinking as he saw Lucian's expression. Time was running out for Estella; her condition worsened with each passing moment.
Lucian glanced at Estella's room. "Please stay here and watch Essie," he murmured. "I'm going to find Roxanne."
He and Cayden went to Roxanne's house. The housekeeper, Lysa, answered the door. "Ms. Jarvis isn't here," she said, smiling. "Would you like to wait?"
Lucian's face darkened. "Where did she go?"
"I believe she went to Universe Park," Lysa replied. "Should I tell her you're looking for her?"
Before she finished, Lucian left.
"No need," Cayden said, following Lucian. "We'll go to Universe Park."
He drove them to the park. Upon arrival and obtaining tickets, they realized they didn't know Roxanne's location.
"Let's split up. Call me if you find her," Lucian ordered coldly.
Cayden nodded, and they searched separately. Soon, Cayden called, "Mr. Farwell, I think I see Ms. Jarvis."
Lucian immediately went to Cayden's location. The park was relatively empty, being a weekday. They quickly spotted Roxanne, Archie, and Benny outside the haunted house. The children were holding Roxanne's arms, preventing her from leaving.
"Mommy! Come in with us. We'll protect you!" Benny pleaded.
Apprehension was evident on Roxanne's face.
Archie added, "How can you be our role model if you're so scared, Mommy?"
Finally, Roxanne relented. "All right I'll come in."
She was pulled into the haunted house, with Lucian close behind.
