Chapter 1197

Mere moments after Aubree sent the text, Cory replied: Roxanne is at the hospital, admitted after being poisoned and losing consciousness. She's just been wheeled from the emergency room and remains unconscious.

Aubree sharply exhaled. "That bitch! I hope she never regains consciousness. Then Lucian will be mine!"

Cory texted again: Mr. Farwell and the three children are with her. I don't know the current situation; they're on the top floor. It would be too obvious if I went up there.

Aubree's expression hardened. "Why didn't you tell me this earlier?"

Cory, at the other end, rolled his eyes. Lucian's men were watching him; following Roxanne was difficult. More importantly, Roxanne was with Lucian. He'd gone to great lengths to discover this, but Aubree's demands were insatiable. He decided not to answer her question. He sent the hospital name and switched off his phone.

Aubree saw the hospital name, pocketed her phone, rushed to her car, and sped away. Cayden brought Essie here earlier. Why? Cory doesn't know what's happening upstairs. Has Roxanne regained consciousness?

Her anger intensified. She accelerated. I thought Lucian would give up on that bitch since he returned to me. Why is he still with her? At the hospital, by her side? I should have acted sooner to prevent them from reuniting. It's too late now.

She needed to go to the hospital, check on Roxanne, and remind them of her presence. That will buy me time to deal with that bitch. I was too kind; I should have killed her!

Aubree's car screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance. She took deep breaths before entering. She planned to find Cory in the lobby, but he was gone. She called him; his phone went unanswered.

Fury consumed her. Clenching her jaw, she entered the elevator. Even without Cory, I can handle Lucian and that bitch.

Upstairs, the children whispered in the ward next to Roxanne's.

Benny worried, "I wonder how Mommy is doing."

Archie patted Benny's arm. "Mr. Farwell's with her; she'll be fine." He knew Lucian had returned to stay with Roxanne.

Benny relaxed.

Archie added, "But we can't miss this opportunity!"

The children understood. Their eyes gleamed, then clouded with worry.
