Aubree marched toward Roxanne, arm raised to strike. Roxanne’s brows furrowed, but before she could react, Aubree stumbled, nearly falling.

The children’s shrill cries rang out, “Don’t you dare bully Mommy!”

Roxanne lowered her head, surprised. Unseen, the children had formed a protective line between them. Aubree’s stumble was clearly their doing.

With a scowl, Aubree regained her balance, fixing her gaze on the three children. “Who are you to stop me? Stay away from me! Otherwise, don’t blame me for what happens!” she warned.

Before she could pass, Estella grabbed her clothes. Glaring, the little girl declared, “Don’t you dare bully Ms. Jarvis!”

Aubree gritted her teeth. “Let go, you ingrate! I’ve treated you well, haven’t I? How could you side with that bitch?”

Estella held on tighter. Aubree, enraged, shoved Estella. Had Archie and Benny not intervened, Estella would have fallen.

Roxanne, reaching her limit, stated firmly, “This is my home, and I won’t tolerate this. I’ve asked you to leave. Go now.”

Aubree snorted, facing Roxanne. “You demand I leave?” she spat. “Have you forgotten your promise to stay away from Lucian and Essie?”

Roxanne stiffened, speechless.

Aubree’s haughtiness increased. “So, you’re speechless? Don’t think Lucian loves you just because he brought you to the hospital. He would have done the same for anyone!”

Roxanne’s lashes trembled.

Archie tugged Roxanne’s clothes. “Don’t listen to her. Mr. Farwell treats you really well!”

Roxanne remained silent.

Aubree snapped, “Shut up! You know nothing. If your mother hadn’t clung to Lucian, he wouldn’t have looked at her!”

“That’s not true!” Benny stood protectively before Roxanne.

Aubree’s fury intensified. She lunged forward, but Roxanne stepped in front of the children. “This is between us. They have nothing to do with this!”

Aubree’s frustration boiled over. “Nothing to do with them? What did they say? Lucian is engaged to me! Why would he be kind to you? You shamelessly clung to him!”

Roxanne’s face darkened. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. Leave. Or I will take action.”

“You dare hit me?” Aubree screamed, flailing her arms. “Try it! If you touch me, I’ll show Lucian what a shrew you are!”
