Chapter 1252

Benny chuckled after complaining, his laughter infectious. The other two children erupted into uncontrolled giggles. Worried about Roxanne, they'd come upstairs, but the sight that greeted themโ€”Lucian hugging Roxanneโ€”stopped them short. They hid in a corner to watch secretly. Seeing Roxanne reciprocate the hug, their eyes widened with surprise; they didn't notice her glance their way. Despite being caught, the children felt happier than usual.

"Becoming a family shouldn't be a far-fetched dream, not after Mommy and Daddy have gone so far as to reconcile," Benny whispered.

Roxanne's face flushed crimson. "Let go of me," she whispered, her voice laced with guilt.

Lucian slowly released her, though one arm remained around her waist. He glared at the children, his mood ruined. "When did you get here?"

The children exchanged glances. Archie finally spoke, "We saw you hugging Mommy!" Roxanne's blush deepened.

Lucian frowned. "Next time, hide much farther away when you see things like this."

"Okay! We won't let Mommy see us next time!" the children chorused obediently. Lucian's face darkened. Roxanne's brow furrowed in embarrassment and anger. "Don't be absurd. We were justโ€ฆ" she stammered, searching for an explanation, only to be teased mercilessly.

"Mommy's face is so red!" Roxanne instinctively covered her face. Panic flickered in her eyes. She quickly disentangled herself from Lucian, who this time offered no resistance. She breathed a sigh of relief.

Archie, noticing her crimson cheeks, changed the subject. "Mommy, can you make us lunch now that you're feeling better? We're starving!" Benny and Estella nodded eagerly, their eyes fixed on Roxanne.

Relieved by their shift in focus, Roxanne's mood brightened. "I'll make lunch. Have some snacks or fruit if you're too hungry." Avoiding Lucian's gaze, she hurried downstairs.

As she reached the stairs, Lucian called out, "I haven't eaten lunch yet. Could you make something for me too?" He added hastily, "I can order takeout if it's inconvenient."

The children chimed in innocently, "Mr. Farwell, what will you order? We want to eat the same thing!" Lucian began describing Cayden's usual takeout orders.

The children were enthralled. Roxanne listened helplessly to their happy chatter. "I've already prepared ingredients. I can cook quickly. No need for takeout."
