Chapter 1290
Archie and Benny awoke early Monday morning. They had already prepared warm milk and sandwiches by the time Roxanne came downstairs. She chuckled at their excitement.
โHurry up and eat your breakfast, Mommy! You need to send us to kindergarten soon!โ Benny urged, handing her the warm milk.
Roxanne smiled, joined them for breakfast, and then drove them to school. Archie and Benny, somewhat depressed since Estella's transfer, were thrilled by her return.
Arriving at kindergarten, Roxanne saw Estella with Lucian, who was speaking to Pippa and Jeffrey. โMr. Farwell! Essie!โ Archie and Benny shouted from the car window. Roxanne smiled, helping them out. The boys rushed to Estella, hugging her. โWelcome back, Essie!โ
Estella, initially nervous after seeing Pippa, beamed at the sight of Archie and Benny. After greeting Estella, the boys greeted Pippa and Lucian: โGood morning, Ms. Ward! Good morning, Mr. Farwell!โ Pippa hadn't seen them so happy in a long time. Jeffrey, however, remained indifferent; he had read Roxanne's file and knew she was only a doctor.
Lucian patted their heads. He was about to ask about Roxanne when he saw her approaching.
โGood morning, Ms. Jarvis!โ Pippa greeted warmly.
Roxanne smiled, replying, โMs. Ward, Mr. Bauer, good morning.โ She then looked at Estella. Since her separation from Lucian, Roxanne had driven the boys to school hoping to see Estella, but hadn't had the chance. This reunion delighted her.
โAunt Roxanne!โ Estella exclaimed, surprising Pippa and Jeffrey. Pippa, recovering quickly, glanced at Lucian, then smiled at Roxanne. โYou and Essie are very close!โ
Seeing Estellaโs innocent expression, Roxanne patted her head. โBe a good girl and listen to Ms. Ward. Talk to Archie and Benny if you need anything.โ
Estella nodded.
โWeโll take good care of Essie! We wonโt let anyone bully her!โ Archie and Benny declared. They knew, without Roxanne needing to explain, that Estella had been bullied at her previous kindergarten. Unable to retaliate against the bullies, they vowed to protect her.
Realizing Roxanne's importance, Jeffrey quickly reassured her, โDonโt worry, Ms. Jarvis! Our kindergarten is excellent; no one will bully her!โ
