Chapter 1299

Aubree gritted her teeth in fury. She quickly typed: โ€œHow dare you send these photos to me?โ€ She had paid him handsomely, yet he had vanished when she needed his help most. Everything had been set in stone. She couldn't believe he was shameless enough to contact her now!

Cory imagined her clenching her jaw, but he remained unfazed. He sent another text: โ€œOf course. Who else will pay me?โ€ When Aubree had hired him to kill Roxanne, Cory knew she was a dangerous woman. After Roxanne's hospital discharge, he'd ceased contact, using her money to enjoy himself in Marsingfill, planning to earn more there. Unfortunately, he'd lost everything within days, accumulating a substantial debt. Remembering Aubree, he decided to try scamming her again.

Cory texted: โ€œConsider these photos my gift, Ms. Pearson. If you wish, we can continue our collaboration. You know how capable I am, right?โ€ A crazed look crossed Aubree's face.

She replied: โ€œCollaboration? Sure! You want money, right? I haven't changed my mind about killing that bitch, Roxanne. If you agree, I'll pay you whatever you want!โ€ Cory's impatience grew as she remained stubborn. He sent photos of her poisoning the children.

Aubree blanched. "What are these? Didn't you delete them?" she typed frantically. She'd spent ten million on those photos and witnessed him deleting them.

Cory replied: โ€œDelete? Why would I delete these valuable photos? Do you think ten million satisfies me? These photos are my cash cow!โ€ Aubree trembled with rage, muttering, โ€œBitch! Bastard! Die, all of you!โ€

Cory sent another text: โ€œI didn't want to burn bridges, but since you're stubborn, don't blame me. I owe a huge gambling debt. If you won't help, I'll ask Mr. or Mrs. Farwell.โ€ He was threatening her and mocking her loss of status as the future Mrs. Farwell.

Aubree lost control. She flung her phone, which crashed against the door before falling onto the carpet. Outside, Gina urgently summoned a servant: โ€œGo get the keys to unlock this door!โ€ Inside, the phone lay screen-up, still displaying Cory's continuous texts.

Aubree's chest heaved with anger. After a while, she picked up her phone, ignoring the cracked screen. She typed: โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

Cory: โ€œI said, I want money. Offer a satisfying reward, and I disappear. Otherwiseโ€ฆโ€

Aubree gripped her phone so tightly she nearly cracked the screen again. โ€œWhat a bastard! Even if I pay him, he'll never delete those photos! He'll keep them and ask for more!โ€ She knew paying him would only invite more trouble. Having fallen for his trick before, she refused to repeat the mistake. It was time to eliminate Cory.
