Chapter 1321

When Lucian saw Roxanne about to retreat, his gaze swept to Estella. “Do you really have the heart to refuse? Essie dreams of having a mother. Could you bear to keep her waiting? You've been absent from her life for six long years!”

His words left Roxanne utterly bewildered. She looked down at Estella in shock, wondering what Lucian meant. The two children, however, remained oblivious, innocently watching the adults.

Roxanne took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain calm. Turning to Lucian, she asked, “What are you talking about? What do you mean I’ve been absent from Essie’s life for six years? I was…” She trailed off, confused. Why would he say that? Shouldn't her biological mother be the one who missed Essie's upbringing? “Lucian, what’s gotten into you?”

Sonya, opposed to Roxanne joining the Farwell family, feared revealing the truth to Estella after such an eventful afternoon. Frustrated, she moved toward Lucian to stop him, but Cayden intervened, blocking her path.

“Mrs. Farwell, Mr. Farwell is proposing,” Cayden said politely but firmly. “I think it’s best you leave them alone. Don’t you want Ms. Estella to grow up with a complete family?”

Sonya grimaced. “Get lost! Who do you think you are, meddling in Farwell family affairs?”

Cayden remained calm. “This is Mr. Farwell’s instruction. Simply observe.” Though unable to physically restrain Sonya, he effectively prevented her from reaching Lucian.

Left with no recourse, the furious Sonya could only watch from a distance. She'd sensed Roxanne's hesitation, but knew this might change if Roxanne learned Estella was her daughter. Before Sonya could act, Lucian revealed the truth with unwavering confidence.

“Essie is your biological daughter. Six years ago, someone left her at the Farwell residence. I’ve had a paternity test done; the results prove she’s our daughter.”

Roxanne stiffened, speechless. Essie is my daughter? Memories of her time with Estella since returning flooded her mind. Tears welled in her eyes. Now she understood the familiar feeling upon their first meeting, Essie's attachment—Essie was her own flesh and blood, the baby she'd believed stillborn.

Overwhelmed by joy and sorrow, Roxanne struggled to compose herself. Estella, holding Roxanne’s hand, was equally shocked, unable to comprehend until Archie and Benny clarified their relationship.

“Really? Essie is Mommy’s child? She’s our biological sister?”

Lucian nodded gravely. Turning to Roxanne and Estella, he said, “I’m sorry for keeping this secret. I feared rejection would disappoint you both. Essie, I’m so sorry for not telling you sooner. Ms. Jarvis is the mother you’ve always wanted. It’s time you call her Mommy.”

At his words, Estella burst into tears, hugging Roxanne’s leg tightly. “Mommy… Mommy…”
