Chapter 1413

After leaving the Queen residence, Frieda drove immediately to the Pearson home. Movers' vehicles lined the driveway as she approached. Even knowing the Pearsons faced hardship and targeted attacks, she hadn't anticipated this extent of devastation. Aubree's earlier phone call, now recalled, clarified everything. No wonder Aubree hadn't contacted her for days, only calling todayโ€”she was desperate.

Overwhelmed, Frieda hesitated. Confronting Aubree now would only invite anger. The Pearsons' rise to prominence, thanks to the Farwells, now seemed a distant memory. Their downfall was shocking. The thought of a similar fate befalling the Queens sent a shiver down Frieda's spine. She couldn't remain complicit with Aubree; who knew what she might make Frieda do to offend the Farwells?

Her expression hardened as she entered the house.

"Frieda, you're here for Aubree?" Gina's eyes lit up. "Help me reason with her. Tell her to accept our fate."

Frieda offered a tight smile. "I will."

She ascended the stairs without looking back. A thud from Aubree's room preceded her arrival. Frieda paused, fearful, only knocking after silence fell.

"Come in!" Aubree's voice was hoarse.

Frieda clutched her bag, entering a scene of chaos. Every movable object lay shattered or overturned. Aubree was attempting to smash a vase.

"Aubree, youโ€”" Frieda felt tense, remaining near the door.

Aubree glared. "These are my belongings! If I can't keep them, I'll destroy them! I won't let anyone else have them!"

She hurled the vase to the ground, shattering it. Frieda recoiled to avoid the shards.

Aubree's tear-stained face, slightly reddened eyes, and dishevelled hair spoke volumes. A slap mark was clearly visible. Frieda's brow furrowed; despite Aubree's cruelty, years of friendship softened her hatred and fear.

"Aubree, calm down. This is done; anger won't change anything. You're only hurting yourself."

Frieda attempted to comfort her. But before she could finish, a ceramic ornament flew towards her. Frieda barely dodged it, her heart pounding as it struck the wall and rolled to her feet.
