Chapter 1416

Jonathan sensed his sisterโ€™s distress. He pondered before saying, โ€œTell me when you'll visit Dr. Jarvis. Iโ€™ll accompany you.โ€

Frieda, understanding his suggestion, brightened. Jonathan, his expression stern, continued, โ€œIf youโ€™ve offended her, apologize sincerely. Dr. Jarvis isnโ€™t petty; sheโ€™ll forgive you if you admit your mistakes, especially with me present.โ€

She nodded, though her mind raced. While Jonathan made it seem simple, she doubted Roxanne's forgiveness. Discovering her indirect role in harming Roxanne's children by supplying Aubree with the bacterium could prove insurmountable. Perhaps a gradual approach would be wiser.

โ€œAll right. Rest upstairs. Let me know your decision, and Iโ€™ll inform Dr. Jarvis,โ€ Jonathan said, waving her away with a sigh. He expected his efforts to be fruitless, but to his surprise, Frieda volunteered, โ€œJonathan, I was wrong. Please ask Dr. Jarvis when sheโ€™s free so I can apologize immediately.โ€

Astonishment flickered in Jonathanโ€™s eyes. Why the change of heart?

Frieda touched her nose. โ€œI was stubborn. As you said, Dr. Jarvis will marry Lucian. Strained relations wouldn't benefit our family.โ€ She smiled charmingly. โ€œCould I rejoin Queen Group after we reconcile?โ€

Jonathan scrutinized her, finding nothing amiss. He readily agreed. โ€œAfter your apology and her forgiveness, you can return. Donโ€™t repeat your mistakes.โ€

He and Alfred had terminated Frieda's employment because her actions damaged the Queen family's reputation and they feared her continued obstinance. Roxanneโ€™s forgiveness would restore their reputation.

Frieda inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. Returning to Queen Group would allow her to appease Aubree if necessary.

Having decided on immediate action, Jonathan promptly called Roxanne. She was engrossed in work at the research institute, driven by the recent discovery that Estella was the child she believed lost at birth. This led her to remain in Chanaea for her career and to be near Estella, demanding long hours and new projects to elevate the institute's standing.

Consequently, she was unavailable for external matters. Jonathan reached her while she was developing new medications. Colbyโ€™s arrest had increased her responsibilities. She was extremely busy but found time to answer his call.

He simply mentioned wanting to discuss something. Given the Queen familyโ€™s ties to the institute, she scheduled an afternoon meeting. They arranged the time and location before ending the call.
