Chapter 1418

Despite her reluctance, Frieda had no choice but to cooperate. Her priority was winning Roxanne's forgiveness to rejoin Queen Group. Beaming, she pushed a gift toward Roxanne. "I bought this for you. It's inexpensive, but please accept it as a token of my sincerity."

Jonathan added, "Frieda put a lot of effort into choosing this gift, Dr. Jarvis. Please accept it; otherwise, she won't believe you've forgiven her."

Roxanne glanced at the affordable purse and then accepted it. "Thank you for the gift. Lunch is on me," she offered. Jonathan readily agreed.

Over lunch, the three discussed the collaboration between Queen Group and the research institute. Knowing his best friend was committed to Roxanne, Jonathan decided to deepen his involvement with the institute, a decision that delighted Roxanne. The meal was enjoyable for all but Frieda, though she was relieved to be reinstated at Queen Group.

After lunch, Roxanne returned to the institute, while Jonathan took Frieda back to Queen Group. Though he'd agreed to her return, Jonathan had reservations and gave her a title without critical responsibilities. Frieda didn't complain; she just wanted to be paid.

Meanwhile, Aubree and her family were moving out of their mansion. Financially strapped, they'd secured a dilapidated suburban mansion using the money Frieda had given Aubree. The mansion was furnished but heavily dusted. Unable to afford a cleaner, they cleaned it themselves.

The first day's cleaning left Gina exhausted. Collapsing onto the couch, she lamented, "This is terrible! Compared to our old home, this place is uninhabitable…"

Samuel roared, "Stop dreaming! We have no home. Even this is just a cheap rental!" He glared at his daughter. "You're nothing but trouble!"

Aubree lowered her head, hiding the rage in her eyes. Roxanne and Lucian! I despise you both! Why is this happening to me? I've lived comfortably, and now I'm banished to hell.

Gina suddenly recalled something. "Let's ask the Queen family for help! Frieda's close to Aubree, and she visited yesterday. She'll surely help! We've had a good relationship with them for years—"

Samuel harshly interrupted, "The Queen family is why we're in this state!" Anger flared as he glared at his wife and daughter. Foolish women! They had no idea who did this. How dare they suggest asking the culprits for help?

Gina collapsed in shock at the revelation.
