Chapter 1591: One Million

After hearing those words, Aubree rose and opened the door. With an outstretched arm, she curtly said, "Give me the documents, and leave."

A lecherous-looking young man stood in the doorway, appraising her. His eyes gleamed at the sight of her. Aubree narrowed her eyes. "Are you deaf? Give them to me!"

"Ms. Pearson, I need to confirm some details," he replied, curling his lips into a malicious smile. He waved the documents but made no move to hand them over.

Aubree's expression hardened. "We can speak here," she said, her disdain evident. "Someone like you isn't qualified to enter my room."

His eyes glinted coldly. He stepped forward, opening the door wider. Aubree, no match for his strength, was nearly pulled from the room.

"What are you doing?" she demanded.

He strode past her into her room. "Ms. Pearson, I know you were a Pearson, and looked down on us. But our situations are now similar. You'll need my help now that you're abroad."

He sat on her bed. Aubree's room was small, containing only a bed. His audacity enraged her. "Get up!"

Unfazed, he pulled out identification documents. "You're no longer a Pearson. Your name is Christina Patel. These are your new documents and background information. Review them at your leisure."

Christina Patel. Aubree's face tightened. She snatched the documents and examined them. Her scowl deepened at the picture and name: Roxanne! This was all that woman's fault! She'd lost her identity and her name.

"That b*tch! I'll never forgive her!" Her hand trembled.

Suddenly, she felt something at her waist. She recoiled from the bed. He rose and approached her. "I worked hard to obtain these documents. There are loose ends to tie up. The money you paid is insufficient; you owe me more."

Aubree frowned. "Didn't we agree on a price?"

He clicked his tongue. "I didn't expect your crimes in Chanaea to complicate things so much."

The mention of Chanaea softened her. "How much more?"

He held up a finger.

"One thousand?" she guessed.

He scoffed. "Overseas? That's nothing. I need one million!"

Aubree's eyes widened. "You're robbing me! I already paid two million! I have nothing left!"
