Chapter 1597: Let Us Not Wait Anymore

Sonya brought Estella to meet some princess characters. However, Estella was distracted, repeatedly asking to return to Archie and Benny. The older woman seethed at the sight of the tearful child.

“If you don’t like this, we can go,” she said, feigning affection as she stroked Estella’s head before turning towards the exit.

Thinking Sonya was finally taking her to Archie and Benny, Estella stopped crying. However, halfway there, she realized they were not heading in the right direction. The amusement park exit was ahead.

“No! I want to find Archie and Benny! You’re evil, Grandma! I don’t want you anymore!” Estella wailed, struggling against Sonya’s grasp.

Sonya held her firmly, saying brusquely, “What are you talking about? Ever since Roxanne and those two arrived, you’ve been with them constantly. You’ve almost forgotten you’re a Farwell! They must have taught you that. Well, you’re staying with me today!”

She strode towards the exit, carrying Estella. Within minutes, they had left the amusement park. As the distance widened, Estella sobbed until exhaustion overcame her. She was barely conscious when Sonya carried her to the car.

Seeing only Sonya and Estella return, the driver cautiously asked, “Mrs. Farwell, what about the other two—”

“Drive to the nearest shopping mall,” she instructed coldly, ignoring his question.

The driver, sensing her anger, obeyed. Throughout the journey, Estella sobbed quietly.

Archie and Benny waited inside the amusement park. When Sonya and Estella didn’t return, Benny suggested searching for them. They circled the park, finding no trace. Anxiety began to set in.

“Do you think something happened to Essie?” Benny asked nervously. “I got lost before, but I’m much braver than Essie. If she gets lost, she’ll cry buckets.”

Archie, though worried, tried to remain calm. He used his smartwatch to call Estella several times, but there was no answer.

Benny grew even more uneasy. “Quick, let’s tell Mommy!”

Archie hesitated, then reassured Benny. “Let’s not jump to conclusions. Essie is with Grandma, and we can’t find them. So, maybe…”

He couldn’t finish. Benny, however, understood. “Did Grandma leave with Essie?” he asked dejectedly.

Archie’s expression confirmed it. He, too, suspected Grandma had taken Estella elsewhere and left them behind.

“Why does she dislike us so much?” Benny whispered.

Archie sighed inwardly. He knew Sonya’s feelings, but never imagined she would abandon them at the amusement park. He wondered if she even considered their safety.

After a moment of distress, Archie brightened and took Benny’s hand. “Let’s not wait anymore and head back. Maybe Grandma has already gone home with Essie.”
