“Have you heard everything?” Jonathan asked, his voice deep. He’d watched Lucian’s car disappear before returning to the living room, his gaze fixed on the kitchen.

Frieda was the only person there. Her heart clenched as she emerged guiltily. “You knew I was here, Jonathan?”

He’d seen her earlier, but knowing her intentions, he’d remained silent, even subtly diverting Lucian’s attention. Now, his expression hardened. “You are forbidden from revealing a single word of my conversation with Lucian. If you do, consider your involvement with Queen Group over.”

Frieda nodded hesitantly. Jonathan frowned, exasperation evident. He carefully explained, “Queen Group and Farwell Group are intertwined. An attack on Farwell Group, especially if Lucian’s vulnerability is known, would severely damage Queen Group. Understand?”

Frieda’s expression sobered. “Got it. I won’t tell anyone.”

Jonathan’s scrutiny continued until she felt compelled to flee. Then, he said slowly, “Farwell’s problems affect the Queen family. Since you heard everything, help find a solution.”

Frieda’s face tightened. “Jonathan, the Queen family’s connections are in your hands. I’m incapable of helping.”

“You have your own connections,” Jonathan countered expressionlessly.

Her smile faltered. “I don’t understand. Where would I have connections?”

His brow furrowed, his voice somber. “You were close to Aubree, for the Queen family's sake. Jack is already provoking us. If you care about the Queen family, stop siding with outsiders!”

Guilt filled her eyes, but she continued to deny it. He cut her off. “A few days ago, you left the office and returned late. Who did you meet?”

Her expression changed drastically. “I—”

“Don’t lie,” Jonathan interrupted coldly. “I’ve investigated. You visited a mansion in the suburbs. The man who helped Aubree escape lives there, doesn’t he?”

He’d had little trust in her since her previous deception. Even after her explanation, he'd investigated, confirming his suspicions. He’d feigned ignorance, hoping to leverage this man’s connections.

“Regardless of your past actions with Aubree and Dr. Jarvis, this is your chance to make amends. That man has powerful connections; he might know someone who can help Dr. Jarvis,” he urged.
