Chapter 1742: Generally Fine

โ€œWhat should we do now, Mr. Damaris?โ€ Kevin asked, already gripped by fear, knowing this was Lucianโ€™s revenge.

Jackโ€™s temper flared. After reprimanding Kevin, he barked, โ€œContact Old Mr. Damaris. As head of the family, he might manage damage control.โ€

Kevin grunted. Jack added, โ€œAlso, transfer all company funds immediately. We must salvage what we can!โ€ He suspected Lucian wouldnโ€™t stop there.

โ€œUnderstood!โ€ Kevin started to leave.

But Jack, growing more troubled, declared, โ€œForget it. Iโ€™ll go with you!โ€ He hurried the nurse to bandage his wounds, then stood to leave. Suddenly, weakness overcame him; his legs wobbled, and he collapsed, losing consciousness.

โ€œMr. Damaris! Are you alright?โ€

Kevin, alerted by the commotion, rushed to Jackโ€™s side. Seeing the unconscious man, a hesitant glint crossed his eyes. Lucian will never let Damaris Group go. If I stay, Iโ€™ll be dragged down. The urge to flee overwhelmed him. He paused, though. Even if I left, Lucian might not forgive me. He turned to the nurse. โ€œTake him to the emergency room. Quickly!โ€

Startled, the nurse, spurred by his instruction, summoned a stretcher and rushed Jack to the emergency room.

Meanwhile, Jonathan, elated by the seizure of Damaris Groupโ€™s warehouses, exclaimed, โ€œThat bastard, Jack, must be regretting this now!โ€

Lucian, standing beside him, pretended not to hear, solemnly gazing at Roxanne. She was sitting up, visibly improved, though still weak. Madilyn and Linda tended to her; the children, no longer crying, chatted happily with her. The ward hummed with warmth.

Upon learning of Roxanneโ€™s recovery, specialists arrived, encountering Lucian and slowing, greeting him cautiously. He nodded. โ€œDonโ€™t let her know Iโ€™m here.โ€

They entered, shocked to find Roxanne awake. Their initial disbelief morphed into admiration as they examined her.

โ€œHow is it?โ€ Roxanne asked, noticing their expressions.

They explained, โ€œYour body is generally fine. The hardened blood vessels have improved. Rest is all you need; youโ€™ll soon be back to normal.โ€

The children cheered. Roxanne smiled, stroking their heads.
