Chapter 1873: Unhappy
It was nine in the morning. Flora Verba Group's flagship store, founded by Roxanne, was opening its doors on the first floor of Magnificent Mall in Horington to hundreds of eager shoppers. The immense crowd blocked access to other stores on the same level.
Neighboring high-end brands observed the scene with a mixture of jealousy and envy. Rumors of Flora Verba Group's planned expansion in Horington fueled speculation, and several employees expressed a desire to switch companies.
Elektra arrived early to manage the throng. In the storage room, she counted stock: only four to five thousand product setsโfar short of demand.
She then directed the staff, who opened the doors to a surging crowd. Announcements echoed through the store:
โDear customers, please remain in line. We are distributing numbers. Please do not cut the queue or crowd. A purchase limit of two sets per person applies. Please do not re-queue after purchasing. Please prioritize your safety!โ
โDear customers, chairs and snacks are available. Please adhere to the rules. We hope you enjoy your shopping experience.โ
โDear customers, five hundred numbers will be distributed in the first round, then repeated. Four thousand sets will be available today and for the next seven days. Please avoid obstructing traffic.โ
Despite the store's success, Elektra felt no joy. She worried about the store's future, suspecting its closure in the third phase. Her keen business sense recognized the flagship store's potential to become a multi-billion dollar enterprise, yet she was bound by Christina's plan, which would likely harm the business even if she gained control of Flora Verba Group. A high-priced public relations team became her immediate priority.
Leaving the store, she headed to the research institute, arriving half an hour later. Adopting an enthusiastic demeanor, she burst into Roxanne's office.
โRoxanne! Itโs a sellout! With a production capacity of one hundred thousand sets, I estimate theyโll sell out in three to four days. Can we increase production?โ
Roxanne remained calm, shaking her head. โThe factory is operating at full capacity; night shifts increase accident risk. We must wait for the new factory in the second phase. That's my final decision. We'll reassess in the third phase.โ
Elektra's spirits plummeted. Their management styles clashed sharply. She foresaw conflict despite any temporary cooperation. She silently reflected: Research and development are vital, but managing a brand transcends technical expertise. I've been involved in every step, from the launch press conference to staff training.
Offering a strained smile, she said, โAll right. I'll follow your plan. I'll focus on sales.โ
Roxanne nodded, donned her lab coat, and entered the laboratory.
As Elektra prepared to leave, she noticed a red invitation. It was Roxanne and Lucian's wedding invitation, set for twenty days hence.
