Chapter 1952: Meeting Their Maternal Grandfather

Coralie was curious about Jonathan's actions; he'd broken his promise to pick her up. After leaving the hospital, she checked into a five-star hotel and called Trey Calnan. "Trey, help me investigate Jonathan Queen. My brother asked you to keep tabs on him before."

Trey, a highly efficient operative trained by Shawn in Horington, had previously monitored Lucian and Jonathan. He quickly reported back to Coralie: "Jonathan Queen spent several hours at Madilyn Xander's house, leaving after lunch. The license plate confirms it."

Coralie was stunned, then furious. Had Madilyn used her absence from Horington to rapidly advance her relationship with Jonathan? Countless wealthy suitors had pursued her, but she'd only taken her relationship with Jonathan seriously. The thought of losing to an "inferior woman" with no background infuriated her. She angrily opened a bottle of wine.

That evening, Roxanne listened as Madilyn recounted the day's events. Roxanne was secretly pleased that Jonathan had chosen Madilyn, signifying her importance to him. However, Madilyn omitted Jonathan seeing her unclothed that morning. Roxanne encouraged Madilyn to be more proactive and assertive in her relationship with Jonathan. After their lighthearted banter, they hung up when the triplets returned from school.

Roxanne then called her father, Grant, arranging a park meeting with the children. Grant's emotional response made her uneasy.

Lucian helped the triplets with their things, then announced they were meeting their maternal grandfather.

"Granddad? Why? Has Mommy agreed?"

"Granddad never wanted us! I don't want to meet him!"

Archie and Benny's frank aversion reflected their understanding that their grandfather had shown them little interest. Estella echoed their sentiments.

Roxanne intervened, explaining it would be a short meeting. Elias added, "If you dislike it, just observe him from afar. It's basic courtesy." The triplets eventually agreed.

Lucian drove them to the park. Meanwhile, Grant prepared in a dilapidated suburban area, having bought expensive children's clothes and three emerald pendants for the triplets. Winnie watched, displeased.

"Why spend so much? They may not acknowledge you. This better work, or you'll face my wrath. How dare you involve me, even getting a fake divorce!"

Grant retorted, "It's a show of sincerity! I wouldn't have approached Roxanne otherwise. It's for our future! If you're bored, Winnie, take some money and find your son!" His anger was clear; the divorce certificate was real, but the divorce wasn't.
