Chapter 1983: She Will Never Forgive Her
Thanks to his quick reflexes, Lucian shielded Roxanne behind him and grabbed Christina by the throat. His long arms prevented Christina from approaching, leaving her to claw helplessly at the air, flailing her limbs and cursing under her breath. With a gentle shove, Lucian sent her tumbling backward to the floor.
“I hate you, Lucian! I hate you so much! How could you treat me like this? Have you no heart? Have you no conscience?” she shrieked.
Even Madilyn was shocked by Christina's sudden hysterical outburst. She hadn't expected such a violent reaction.
“Have you lost your mind, Christina?” Madilyn shouted angrily.
“Hahaha! Yes, I have! I'm madly in love with you, Lucian! I love you so much that I would cut my heart out for you, but… I'm filthy now… Why would you be so cruel to me, Lucian? My family is ruined! You're just his ex-wife, Roxanne! I'm his fiancée! How dare you steal him from me? I will never forgive you, not even in death!”
Christina's expression flickered between sadness, excitement, and anger, revealing her unstable mental state. She wasn't looking at Lucian and Roxanne; her eyes were fixated on the walls and ceiling as she writhed in apparent agony.
She then began pulling at her hair and cupped her hands over her cheeks, thrashing violently until her head struck the concrete wall. The loud impact sent shivers down Madilyn's spine.
“What has gotten into her? Has she gone crazy?” Madilyn exclaimed, clearly frightened.
Roxanne's expression turned somber. “She's overwhelmed and her subconscious is creating illusions to escape the pain. This is likely hysteria.”
Christina continued slamming her head against the wall with increasing force until blood spurted from the wound. Madilyn was so startled by the gruesome sight that she froze.
Roxanne, clearly concerned, reacted swiftly. “Madilyn, sedate her before she does something worse!”
While acknowledging her lack of personal concern for Christina, Roxanne recognized the potential consequences for the hospital. Lucian, seemingly anticipating her thoughts, closed the window, preventing a possible suicide attempt.
Madilyn quickly returned with a syringe, sedating Christina. Within thirty seconds, Christina's eyes rolled back, and she collapsed.
“Call the police, Lucian. She’s involved in Elektra’s case, so she’s not getting away this time,” Roxanne said calmly.
Lucian called the police. Ten minutes later, they arrived and transported the unconscious Christina to a specialized hospital for suspects.
Later, Peregrine arrived with medicine. Roxanne prepared to test it on herself, but Lucian intervened.
“I should test it. You're pregnant, remember?” he said, caressing her stomach. Peregrine, after a moment of shock, congratulated Lucian, predicting twins—a boy and a girl.
