Lucian returned to the company and found Cayden at the office entrance.
"Mr. Farwell," Cayden said, hurrying forward.
Lucian frowned. "What is it?"
Cayden looked serious. "We have some issues with our Bellridge business. We need to send an executive there. Who should we send?"
"Bellridge?" Lucian's gaze darkened. Thinking of Roxanne, who was in Bellridge, he said coldly, "I'll go myself."
Cayden was stunned. "Your schedule todayโ"
The Bellridge situation didn't warrant Lucian's immediate attention; he had other commitments.
Lucian interrupted. "Book the earliest flight, and reschedule my meetings."
He turned and entered the elevator.
Cayden immediately rescheduled Lucian's meetings and booked the flight. He then followed Lucian to Bellridge.
They arrived in Bellridge around noon. Their contact drove them to the hotel.
The contact eagerly introduced the hotel. "This is a very famous hotel in Bellridge. A major medical conference is being held here today. Many prominent medical professionals are attending."
Lucian nodded slightly. Despite his impassivity, his heart quickened.
After settling in, Cayden asked, "Mr. Farwell, when should we meet with our contact here?"
Lucian seemed to ignore him. "Find out about recent medical conferences in Bellridge. Specifically, any attended by Larry."
The contact's words had reminded Lucian that Roxanne and Larry, both prominent medical professionals, were likely at the conference.
Cayden, unaware of Lucian's thoughts, was surprised. Aren't we here for company business? he thought, but dared not question Lucian's serious demeanor. He agreed to the task.
The search took an hour. Finding the information, Cayden immediately returned to the hotel. "Mr. Farwell, I found it. There was a medical conference this afternoon, here at the hotel. Larry was listed as an attendee, butโ"
Lucian frowned. "But what?"
"It ended half an hour ago," Cayden said, sounding guilty. He worried he'd disrupted Lucian's plans.
"Were Larry and Roxanne there?" Lucian asked coldly.
Cayden nodded. He'd checked the attendee list; both names were present.
Lucian's expression hardened. "Find out which hotel they're staying at."
Cayden understood Lucian's intention. Hesitantly, he said, "Mr. Farwell, they're having a dinner gathering tonight, nearby. Mr. Morrison and Ms. Jarvis will be there."
Lucian nodded. "Then let's meet Mr. Zimmerman of Prosperity Corporation at that restaurant tonight."
Cayden agreed and contacted Zimmerman's secretary to schedule the meeting, confident there would be no objection.
